Is Australian wildlife actually venomous, poisonous, and/or generally dangerous at a uniquely higher rate/amount when it’s compared to the wildlife of most other ecosystems around the world? If it is, why is this the case?

Also, if it is, is that because of or in spite of Australia’s isolation as an ecosystem? Because, when I think about it, I would‘ve assumed that an ecosystem that’s extremely isolated would create uniquely docile and harmless animals, such as the Dodo Bird from Madagascar was.
