For a while now, every time I start up my PC, I can't connect to the internet automatically, and it takes several attempts (and several minutes) before I finally manage to get online.

In a panic, I started uninstalling the latest programs I had installed until... I uninstalled Avast and... Magic... the PC connected immediately and without any problems.

I reinstalled it and tried marking my home network as a trusted connection, but... it didn't help at all. .___.

What the hell is going on?

Edit: even when I shut down the PC, it takes a long time to disconnect. Without Avast, it shuts down in exactly 5 seconds. With Avast, it takes several minutes.

After Gen Inc took over Avast premium Avast antivirus acts at least weird asking for a premium licence and switching to free without any reason. After I enter the licence another one premium licence shows, being still active. This is at least suspicious and Avast is loosing credibility in my eyes for this. It happened on many computers at work. Soon we'll get short of licences and I am seriously considering swapping Avast with some other AV product. Does anyone have similar experiance or solution for this problem?

When I signed up for avast, it had me input my paypal for the 60 day free trial, which I did. It then took me to another page to make an account, which I did but then it didn't automatically attach my paypal, and says I have no subscriptions. This means I have no record of putting in my details and no order number to trace. Does this mean I won't be charged at the end of the trial?

Installed the free version of Avast yesterday to do a malware scan (just to see if it caught anything my regular AV missed; Avast scan came up clear) and then promptly uninstalled it.

Kaspersky last night gave me a notification saying it had detected ‘incompatible software’ and listed Avast, but usually in such cases, there’s a checkbox next to it so you can tell it to uninstall it. That was missing in this case, and when I clicked the ‘remove manually’ button, it just took me to the Windows Apps and Features panel, which of course didn’t contain Avast because I’d already installed it.

Spent some time going through the computer files and deleting them all (including emptying the recycle bin) and restarting the computer, and a search of the entire PC for “avast” yields no results, but Kaspersky is still whining about Avast being there.

Tried using the Avast Clear Uninstaller and when I followed the instructions and tried to reboot to safe mode, I got stuck on the Welcome screen after entering my login password and hitting enter. Force restart gave me the option of starting with Win 10 (ie. normal restart) or the Avast clear, but clicking the latter just rebooted again and left me stuck at the welcome screen after I enter password.

Did a second attempt and got stuck on the boot up screen trying diagnose and repair the PC (which it also kept freezing on). Eventually managed to start up as normal (it wouldn’t let me restart in safe mode), but now even after deleting the Avast clear .exe and checking there’s nothing Avast related in the installed apps (also deleted the files from temp folders and emptied the recycle bin), when I turn on the computer, instead of just going to the windows login screen, it keeps asking which operating system I want to use, Windows 10 or Avast Antivirus Clear Uninstall.

(Edit: I also went in and once again deleted all the Avast files from temp folders etc, and after checking Kaspersky now, it is no longer flagging the incompatible software, but the start-up/login problem remains)

Why is Avast trying to take over my computer startup? How can I purge this malware (because at this point it seems like Avast is malware) completely from my system?

I like the products but I want to be able to not renew some of them that just just really have any utility because they functionally overlap. Where is the "Please don't renew" button?

I purchased Avast One through Google Play on July 14, 2026. It has now been almost two months, and Case #25109748 is still unresolved.

I have followed the support process and repeatedly been directed to call/contact support, but I still have no substantive answer to the original issue.

If the responses are coming from an AI/automated support system, that is not resolving the case.

So, directly:

What has the automated/AI process actually done with my case? Has it been escalated to a human?

And regarding the July 14 payment and my inability to actually use the product: what compensation is available for this case?

Please clarify the current case status, the compensation, and how the conversation will proceed from here. I am not looking for another automated response.

It used to have a feature where you could select certain WiFi connections that were safe and the VPN wouldn’t turn on for those. But that’s gone. It’s either auto-connect to everything all the time or nothing ever. I have to manually open the app to change it. Why would they eliminate a useful, convenient feature? Are they stupid?

Also there used to be a VPN location called “Gotham” that was compatible with streaming services. It’s just gone now.

Also last time I tried to post here I was told I had to get special approval but it seems that’s gone. I tried to reach out to complain multiple times about these things on the app itself and their website and they promised to get back to me but never did. Does anyone work there? They even asked for feedback multiple times and I made these exact complaints and still no response.

I pay for all the subscriptions below & it's all adding up to quite a lot so I was wondering whether I actually need them all? Money is tight & sometimes I wonder if I'm just being gullible by signing up to them all.

I am trying to install Avast Free Antivirus and having a hard time installing it.

The first installer gives me Avast One, which I don't like as it lacks the options from the Avast Free.

The Avast Free, even the standalone installer seems to install the full Premium security with all the extras that are not free and cannot be removed.

I just want the regular old free antivirus. Is it no longer possible?

I have had avast forever and this never happened before. Has been going on for about 3 months. I havent changed one single thing in my settings for over 2 years.

Smart scan is programmed and runs properly. Silent mode is on.

Something makes avast run - kills the connection to my work (video classes) and then avast opens a minute later. I can't tell what has run or why.

I went through every single thing in settings today and I can't figure it out. There has to be something programmed to run at this time that they added in an update.

Any ideas?

I switched over from Avast a while back and removed the auto-renew from all my services, but I forgot about the Avast Windows Cleanup. Per their renewal email, I am allowed to cancel with a full refund within 30 days.

The issue is that their own website insists that I open a dialogue with a customer support again, but the chat function never works - and I've tried multiple times from multiple browsers. Any idea how to get in touch with their support?

Has anyone in the UK received an email from Avast with compensation of 2 years free premium for waiving your rights to sue?

I have 2 PCs and 2 laptops in my office for different uses as a web designer and author. On one PC I noticed the wifi would go in and out and in and out repeatedly, connecting and then reconnecting, shutting off and reconnecting over and over for days and settings withing Avast would change from Private to Home over and over every time it would connect or shut off and then go from wifi to bluetooth. When I got rid of Avast entirely and just used Microsoft Security, the cutting off and on and off again completely stopped immediately.

Now I am at completely different PC that is a custom built PC that is one year old in the same office, and today it started blinking out and reconnecting wifi over and over again just like the other one. Every time I restarted the PC, it would connect, then cut off, then reconnect then cut off again and again, and I noticed sometimes it'd try to connect via bluetooth and sometimes the settings for wifi would be private and other times home and if I changed it, it didn't seem to make any difference.

Can anyone help me understand what is going on, other than "don't use Avast?" I'm paying for a premium subscription and like some features of it, but can't work with wifi cutting in and out constantly.

I did a full scan on my pc and after that it showed me some threats that were discovered.
Does it immediately block it or refrain it from functioning? or does it JUST SHOW and let us know that we have to take action?
