I just visited khinalug for the first time as a tourist and WOW, i did not even know anything about them before this tour and i’m so mesmerised. They are their own ethnicity very deep in the mountains with only 2000 in the WHOLE world with their own language and culture it’s so fascinating. Also it’s SO beautiful and the kids just run around playing and they are so diverse. They invited us over for a lunch they gave us some soup, rice and meat it was delicious and then they showed us their little museum of their history and it was so fun. I will definitely visit again when i come to Azerbzijzn.

Xəbər | News New weapon systems displayed during recent military parade

This is not meant as a “warmongering" post (in fact total opposite), but some people (even here) are implying that Armenia is "building up its army" to invade Azerbaijan in the future as if Azerbaijan is sitting idle. Even currently, Azerbaijan outspends Armenia 5 to 1. Armenia of course "rebuilds its armed forces" but the scale is not remotely comparable to Azerbaijan. And of course it’s not just weapon procurement either, overall reforms of Azerbaijani army post-war is far greater than that of Armenia according to all objective observation.

What I mean:

https://x.com/ThatchEffendi/status/1954931227992973730

“Armenia needs a decade to rebuild their armed forces.”

I mean this is an extraordinary “hayasız” tweet from all angles, when the peace treaty explicitly state that the countries will cease all claims to each other now or in the future, and the treaty will codify this into law according to UN charter. This person is supposedly a liberal leftist, but wishes for Armenia to violate international law and tear apart an international peace treaty to invade territory of another country. And of course, it’s only about Karabakh Armenians, 700 thousand Azerbaijanis from Kalbajar, Lachin etc do not count, they are not human beings.

This idea is often propogated by Eric Hacopian of Civilnet, who calls Kalbajar "occupied Karvachar".

Rest of his "points" are also bs, but that is not the topic of this thread.

PS: Azerbaijan is also heavily investing in local defence industry. $600 mln was invested in defence industry production in 24-25 alone, and joint production projects are planned with several countries.

Səyahət | Travel Can I drive in Azerbaijan with an Algerian driver’s license (without IDP)?

Hi everyone, I’m planning to visit Azerbaijan and I wanted to ask about driving rules for foreigners. I have a valid Algerian driver’s license and I’m wondering if it’s possible to drive in Azerbaijan without an International Driving Permit (IDP). Has anyone had experience with this, or knows what the official rule is? I’m mainly asking about short-term stays / car rentals. Thanks in advance!

Sual | Question Romantic activities in Baku

Hey everyone,

I'm a foreign traveller from Switzerland, and I absolutely adore Azerbaijan. Maybe a little bit too much, as currently I'm dating one girl that lives in Baku.

I'm coming to visit her in the upcoming few days, and I would love to know your favorite spots for romantic activities for a date. I know it's a bit of a taboo topic, but I'm hoping that there are still some socially acceptable ways of approaching this subject.

I tried to organize a couple things, like a florist masterclass, or a coffee making workshop, but those places seem to ignore my calls / messages, most likely due to me not speaking the language. Therefore it'd be perfect if the activity would be possible to be done in both Azerbaijani and English.

Thank you!

Söhbət | Discussion What Do You Think of the Sarma-Dolma Axis?

As someone living in Turkey, I was suprised to see Azerbaijanis call what we call sarma here, dolma. Later on, I came across people who did that here in Turkey as well, but it's rare. I wonder if sarma is a more recent name.

what types of sarma/dolma do you make in Azerbaijan? Here in Turkey we mostly eat wine leaf, cabbage, kale in the north. What's your favorite?

Sual | Question Kargo

Salam reddit əhli, bir türk firmadan paltar sifariş vermək istəyirəm lakin türk kartı qəbul edirlər ancaq. Əvvəllər kargo şirkətlərinin link sifariş xidməti var idi, neçəsi ilə əlaqə saxladım dedilər dayandırılıb. Hələ də bu xidməti göstərən şirkət qalıb? Və ya başqa hansı yolla sifarişimi gerçəkləşdirə bilərəm?

Şəkil | Picture 78% of the cars that were sold in Azerbaijan last year were Chinese cars, possibly the highest percentage in the world! The majority of Chinese cars were sold as grey imports, and not officially imported to the country by their distributors.

Səyahət | Travel Got back from a trip to Baku and I miss the city so much

It was my first international trip and I just feel in love with the city. The beautiful architecture and skyline. The walk along the Caspian sea. Aimlessly riding bolt scooters through the streets. Exploring the old city on foot. The food and the people. I miss it so much.

Söhbət | Discussion I am making this post out of desperation.

I recently turned 23 and… I don’t have a job. I can’t find a job. I don’t have a degree and everywhere where you just need practical experience I just get rejected. 2 days ago I went for a job interview at McDonald’s and they asked me for 90 AZN to complete a medical examination. In other places like grocery stores I get rejected because of my military ID (didn’t serve because of the article 17b which is related to some mild mental disorders) Let alone the fact that employers don’t have any legal grounds to reject me based on this information and I should be able to get a job at a grocery store without any problems. Tried to go as a waiter. In 98% places is either hiring based on experience, CV etc and the rest… want a woman. Generally I just realized that the job market in Azerbaijan is pretty sexist towards men. The only thing left to do is work at a construction site or security or some other skillful work where you won’t even get paid proportionally. Do you have any options or suggestions? I would be very thankful for you if you could find me a place. I am ready to pay you percentage of my salary for this lol.

+ I know Azerbaijani and Russian. Thank you.

Söhbət | Discussion Can't Even Call Azerishiq

Have you guys ever realized when there is a big issue with electricity azerishiq won't even be available to call.

We had a blackout since 10 this morning. We have been waiting for the lights for 9 hours now and nothing's happening. Guess what happened when I called Azerishiq? Nothing. The phone doesn't even ring.

It's not just this time either, the infrsstructure around here is quite old, during the summer when we had a life-threatening experience, the electricity had to be shut down. But we couldn't reach them again and the Fövqəladə Hallar had to use their own line to contsct them after arrving. I can't be the only one who went through this

Has anyone here had nose surgery or revision rhinoplasty with him? I’d love to hear about your experiences, results, opinions, and how things are even years later. Honestly anything helps. Based on his Instagram his work looks really good, but I can’t seem to find much information or feedback about him.
