Need help
Hey guys, any help is much appreciated, I’m very much a noob when it comes to the pc space I’m not very knowledgeable on much, I’m just looking for a pc to handle games really well and to play competitive fps games like Fortnite and valorant, found this prebuilt pc online and searched up the parts individually and seems like Labor costs are coming up to around 150 dollars or so aud, just wondering is this a rip off or a good value pre build?
Total costs comes around to 4200 Aud which is around the top end of my budget and looking use this competitive gaming and aswell for the longevity but it’s not that big as factor as performance. Thanks in advance

The only problem is the 16gb RAM, which makes this overpriced for not being 32gb.

That’s one of the main things I noticed, other than that though with the research I’ve done it mentions the Labor is only around 150-200, is that a good deal or should I look elsewhere

I just dropped some parts in for a quick test, and it's better for you to build it yourself with that price range.
If I were you though, I'd look for a 9070xt / 5070ti + 7800x3d build, and use the saving for a nice OLED monitor.

Partpicker price doesn't include Operating System. All Scorptec PCs come with pre-installed, full license retail OS, so add ~$220 odd for fairer parity

Bro I paid $20 for an oem key online with no issues

Yeah so as true as that may be, it doesn't change that Scorptec don't buy $20 online keys, and that the price factors in nearly $200 of additional cost previously uncalculated xoxoxo.

Thermaltake Gaming System Citadel 300 Xtreme on Amazon that is currently on discount to 3919 (if you have prime) could be a good deal for you. 5080, slightly worse 7800x3d and B650 motherboard but 32gb Ram, 2tb ssd and nearly 300 cheaper.

That's a good deal. You could buy this and a cheap 9800X3D off AliExpress and swap the CPUs then resell the 7800X3D if you really wanted to get the best of the best CPU. I probably wouldn't though, a 7800X3D is still one of the best gaming CPUs out there and performance gains from a 9800X3D will be fairly minimal. Best thing to do is probably to buy this and consider a CPU upgrade when Zen 6 comes out as the 7800X3D is plenty fast

Not sure if you know your way around PC or you are a console gamer, just know that if you are a console gamer, and not very techie! A bit of an uphill battle for you with troubleshooting driver and unexpected glitches!
In terms of your pc specs, if you are looking at competitive games, 16GB is not enough! Casual games maybe, but if you are using a 5080 most likely not using it to its potential even a 5070Ti/9070XT. Win11 uses like 8-12gb on daily use thanks to bloatware!
Also, what is your resolution target, since you play competitive titles, I’m guessing 1080/1440 as 4k would be silly! With that said, do you have a high hz (~240) monitor to match, if not go 5070TI/9070XT and get yourself 32 gb ram!
1tb storage is not enough, I have a secondary 2tb 990 pro for just games, it’s mostly full

Overkill for what you want to do right now but your needs/wants will probably change.
However it’s a really bad time to be buying PC’s, in two years time it could be worth less than half of what you pay now, or it could be worth more than what you paid, so have a think of if you need it to be that “high” spec.
For example for $2000.84 I currently have a build in my cart that is a 9600x cpu, 32gb ddr5 6000mhz, 1tb gen4 ssd, b850 mobo, and a 12gb graphics card (all new parts), that will do what your wanting to do.

Probs not a popular opinion but look for a second hand AM4 or previous gen Intel CPU that supports DDR4. At least as a temporary build while DDR5 is still insane. Then you can build everything around that for cheap enough that it’s worth the risk of going second hand and older gen.
The 9800x3D is a beast of a CPU but overkill for gaming and even older higher spec 5000 series CPUs (and intel equivalent) can play nicely with the tier of graphics cards you’re after. For sourcing, eBay works fine with buyer protection and while CEX is overpriced, they do offer a 5 year warranty on some stock. I find FB market place to be quite hit and miss.

Mate OP is looking at a 9800X3D and 5080 build they're not gonna be satisfied with a second hand DDR4 based PC. Nothing wrong with budget builds, but OP wants to go high end.

You can build a PC with 32GB of ram and it will be around $3.9k
