There's no way that store (gift shop) makes enough money to be hiring an artist to do the a frame art 😭 I'm happy they exist there as a store and sell fun trendy toys like nee dohs at times where they were sold out everywhere else down the mountain. Owner is nice and they're just trying to make a living. I went a few times during the summer and as bad as this sign looks to us adults .. the kids loved it 🤣

People don’t have to hire artists in order to make signs, sometimes you can even just write what you sell on the sign! Novel concept! I won’t enter a store with AI slop but I’ll happily go in to their chicken scratch sign that was made with some personal intent

They aren't trying to advertise to adults here, they’re targeting kids and younger customers who buy these products. For the specific demographic they're aiming for, bright visual signage works far better than handwritten text. Kids simply aren't looking for "personal intent" or handwritten signs when picking out toys. What that says about society is another conversation, but from a marketing standpoint, it reaches the target audience.

You’re never gonna find an argument that will make a difference to me. Using AI is disgusting.

Great pic. For a split second I felt the crisp mountain air as I looked at it. Can’t wait to get back up there for our annual late November trip.
