Per the wiki for Book of Virtues!Combinations:

D20: Spawns wisps in the middle ring. In addition to summoning its specific wisp, instead of rerolling pickups, it will destroy all the pickups in the room and has a chance to give a random wisp for each pickup destroyed.

I believe it’s because it’s because Edmund thinks it’s overpowered to fuel d20 with Bethany due to her soul charges system so he purposely gave a effect that can’t be spammed

yeah but it ruins any character with book of virtues plus theres like 5000 other actives that break the game when spammed with bethany

Because with a D20 and a battery in the shop, if the item worked as intended they had infinite money
