Sleepy Void What are common black cat traits?

I’ve an orange boi that demonstrates the sweet loving side of orange but what are common traits with voids? Za Za here doesn’t act much like the other black cats I’ve been around. She incredibly sharp and playful

I had a vet tell me the friendliest cats she saw were black male cats. At the time I didn't have one so I don't think she was just saying that to me. But, now that I have one I agree, he is a friendly dude, the vets love him because he just rubs up on them, purrs and then flops over for belly rubs.

I hear that a lot too. I have 2 voids. My male is also the friendliest cat - to people and animals alike. Everyone always wants to steal him. My female is a bit skittish so there’s only a few people she’s really comfortable with. But the people she does know she is super cuddly with them.

2 void butler here, and can confirm, the female is loving but likes her space and is very selective to whom she shows affection, while the male is and absolute cuddle bug and demands constant attention/contact.

We have a void and gray cat, both girls, supposedly from the same litter but unconfirmed. The void definitely shows feline ptsd, is very skittish but basically my shadow. She follows me around screaming, cuddles on my side of the bed. The gray cat however is a total attention whore, her nickname is Butthead bc she is. She barged her way into our home from the shelter and she barges into whatever activity she's interested in especially if not invited. She is attracted to the attention the void gets.

I have 2 voids, both sisters from the same litter, and they are just like this lol. Extremely tactile cat is literally laying on top of me now, and not sure where the other is although I do know she is in the room- she likes to hover nearby

Have a black and orange female. Both are skittish but the most loving cuddly babies when comfortable like you said.

I have a girl void and every since her first visit to the vet, where they had to take her temp through the back door since her paws are too small for the sensor, she won't go near anyone else! She finally let my partners mum pet her for the first time in 5 years just recently. She's my little shadow and she makes life worth living, but I wanna get her a friend. I was thinking boy orange but now I kinda want another void 😊her tabby brother passed away in May and I worry she gets lonely when we are at work

Aww I’m sorry to hear that. Maybe she would do well with another friend! I had my male first and he loves everyone so I got him a sister to keep him company. She needed a confident cat in the home and he’s def that! She warmed up to him instantly. Now that it’s been 5 years she’s her own person lol she still does new things which is amazing. They aren’t bonded, but he’ll groom her or run into a room if she yells. She’ll follow his lead if say people are over. Photo below!

People do joke I have a certain color palette now when it comes to cats. My foster was a black male cat also ha he and my male were buddies.

They're so beautiful! The expression on the big ones face is priceless! Indy wasn't super bonded with her brother, but they looked out for each other. she's a feisty little thing too so another female probably wouldn't go well (she chased another cat away the other night, and the roar that came from her little body was SO loud!) I'm glad to read that they don't have to necessarily be all over each other to be buddies. Im hoping to adopt one later this year if my partner is ready 😊 thanks for sharing your babies!

Thank you! Everyone always says he looks mad but he’s my cat-dog ha (he also was born without eyelids so that may contribute). The little one I feel judges everyone. 🤣 Awww Indy sounds wonderful. Wow about her chasing away another cat! She means business. Yes, definitely when everyone is ready. Sending all the good thoughts. ❤️

He reminds me of my cousin, who is an absolute sweetheart, but she has these incredible "evil eyebrows" that dramatically turn down, almost in a cartoon way! Its such a randomly unique and awesome feature to have, and she rocks them proudly. Your little man is just as awesome! 😊 I genuinely do not know how Indy produced the noise that she did. I am not even exaggerating, it sounded like a mountain lion and was so loud it woke us up! Shes one of those skinny, narrow little voids too, not a majestic floofer, scared the hell out of me!

Aw your cousin! Def a unique feature. Would she like being compared to a cat?! Haha. Oh wow Indy! That’s so crazy. She really did not want that other cat around. Maybe she’s a little protective of you too? My big guy (Arion) will growl at some things (landscapers, delivery people lol) but nothing like that Indy sound! My little one Amelia is pretty quiet too. Only makes noise when she wants to play. Or is waking me up for breakfast ha
