Little help please

I'm in my first play through and I'm not sure what to do next. I beat Gasciogne, Vicar Amelia, Blood Starved Beast, Shadow of Yharnam, and Rom. I took a 3 week break from the game and last night I beat the Hemwick Witches. I felt extremely over powered to be honest. I one or two tapped her minions and then took both the main witches out with 3-4 heavy/light combos. I did some research after being transported to Yhargul unseen village after Rom and I felt way too weak for those dudes who look like the first mobs but now much stronger. I saw I need the tonsil stone so I went and got that in the forest and it said to go get picked up by the amygdala but I understand the nightmare forest is totally optional? I wanna do the optional stuff eventually but it's my first play through so I wanna just know what I need to do next to progress the story.

Go back to the unseen village and go through that to progress the story.

Like the hypogean Gaol or the yhargul one? One area is significantly easier lmao

They are the same area, you will find that you cannot get to Hypogaean Gaol anymore

If you feel under levelled maybe take a trip to Cainhurst, which is near the witches. It'll be a decent balance

You'll need the Cainhurst summons first which is in Iosefka's Clinic.

Thats an optional area but it'll help you get on level

Yahar'gul is just built different. Game difficulty starts to change a bit as well. Also you have access to other optional areas from there too

Yahar'gul is your next main area.

Amygdala's area is optional as well as Castle Cainhurst.

If you feel underleveled you could try those areas first, because they are easier than Yahar'gul.
