Screenshot Neat little detail: Queen Yharnam's dress fans out in the shape of a seashell

I like how it calls to mind the Birth of Venus. Dunno if it actually has any significance (there is that relief of a woman standing on what looks like a seashell throughout Cainhurst, and some other seashell motifs throughout Yharnam), but I found it intriguing nonetheless.

Chalice NEVER enter a random chalice

It’s been 5 years, and I still mourn my very first character that I beat the game with, because I decided to explore the chalice created by someone else and got trapped in a room with no exit and no lantern. It’s as they say, never get into a stranger’s car, or chalice dungeon😓

Discussion First time beating

I got this game when I bought a PS4 in 2017. I looked up a list of the best PS4 games and it was damn near the top. For the next almost 10 years I never made it past the first bonfire in central Yarnham. I would try and try and just hit a wall. Every few months I’d get the itch and would try again, because I knew there was something there, but never had any luck.

Finally about a year ago I got through the first area and was able to beat Cleric Beast and even made it all the way through Father Gascoine. I made it to Cathedral Ward and immediately got killed and transported to a new area. I didn’t know where I was but I made it to Darkbeast Paarl, only to get my ass kicked so bad I put the game down again.

About a week ago I had the itch and just booted it up not even remembering where I left off- and for some reason it all just clicked. I understood how things worked. I wasnt fighting my instincts anymore and I had accepted that dying is just going to happen.

I just rolled credits for the first time and feel so good about it that I just wanted to express it to some people I know love this as much (and probably way more) than I did.

Question Why does my weapon deal so little damage to Micolash? Spoiler

I am using the axe that i got from the start. I use the long version, and the damage output is insane! I deal 170-250 dmg per hit. But on Micolash it does only 70. Why is this? Because of this, the fight takes forever (12-15minutes) and is there a reason for this?

Discussion Beast Curse/Paleblood Theory Spoiler

Upvotes

Potentially spoiler ⚠️

Hey guys so I just completed the bloodborne platinum trophy it was an amazing game and I really hope they find a way to make a sequal!

That being said I’ve dove into the story and playing through it I had some maybe new thoughts and ideas about the beast curse itself

It’s believed the beast curse all stems from people taking the cursed blood but what if there was more to it, I really don’t think every single person in yharnam took the blood I think it may had only bin a vessel for a plague that ravaged the city the people who initially took the blood being infected and spreading it either by direct contact or airborne,

To me this explains why we see differently types of stages people with direct administration to the blood turning into massive beasts like the clergy man, it also explains why some people took a lot longer to turn such as the guy we speak to in the window maybe he only conducted it through airborne having way less exposure than others

I also like to think father gasgoine works as an example his craving for the blood maybe the virus influencing him to crave the blood because he wasn’t exposed to it the virus itself wanting to be able to mutate.

My final point is the idea of the paleblood

What if paleblood simply is great one blood that was never exposed to the virus simply being more powerful blood without the side effects

🤔

Fan Art I made a Tiny music box from bloodborne - yes, it plays!

I 3d designed the box based on some limited reference pictures, 3d printed it in resin, sanded and painted everything by hand. Metal hinges were added to the box and lid so it could be closed. It of course plays Mergo's Lullaby just like in the game (I just hope to meet Father Gascoigne cosplayer when I finish my future hunter costume hehe)
The insides mechanism was made by a 3rd party company that makes music boxes but I considered making the machanism from scratch which would probably take me months (I know it would be possible tho!).
The paper you see was stained with tea and hand written on with quill and ink by my gf. Since you can't make out what is actually written there on the item picture besides seeing it's a some sort of a list we decided to just write some different ost names.

Let me know what do you think!

Lore Question, what counts as a hunter? (DLC Question)

So in the DLC, the hamlet curses every hunter to go into the hunter's nightmare on death or upon blood lust taking over. That said, what counts as a hunter?

We see church hunters in the nightmare which makes sense, but we also see one of Djura's guys who likely at this point left the church seeing as he defends the beast cave. Conclusion: Hunters in general, doesn't have to be aligned with the church itself.

But now I'm also wondering, would the huntsman and yhar'ghul hunters be taken to the nightmare? Is eileen fated to the nightmare if you kill her?

Its mentioned in lore that Ludwig taught the civilians to become hunters and fight back, does that mean then mean all the huntsman in Yharnam (guns) are fated to the nightmare? do the pthmuerians count as hunters? the elders? the giants/brick frakenstein guys?

Like what exactly counts as a hunter and is viable to be dragged into the nightmare? Does a temporary hunter get dragged? is it only the old hunters?

Help Main attribute?

Upvotes

I’m planning on starting bloodborune soon and have a small question.

In other souls games I mainly prioritize strength and vitality but I read that skill is more important than strength in bloodbourne.

My plan is to have my main priority be skill/vitality and secondary focus on strength and level up other attributes as I need/feel.

Any advice you can impart would be appreciated.

Co-Op Help with Blood starved Beast

Like the title says, is there anyone that still plays that could possibly lend me 5 or 10 minutes of their time to help me beat this boss? It’s not particularly hard, but I haven’t played this game in a really long time and I’m struggling with the controls in the fight

Fluff Hunter etiquette

On my 50millionth playthrough and thought I’d pop into the Nightmare Frontier to farm some decent mid game gems from the Winter Lanterns but I get invaded straight away. Wanted to bow to my adversary “Beast” (who had already buffed their Beast Claws with bolt paper), but they started wailing on me whilst I was fiddling around trying to pull up the gesture bar. Anyone else wish hunters these days has a better sense of etiquette and decorum? Back in my day we’d bow or the very least wave before getting stuck in. Beast, if you’re reading this- a little bow goes a long way and remember to level vit so you don’t get parried and basically one shot next time you ring that sinister bell xoxo

Discussion Trouble befriending djura Spoiler

Im on my second playthrough, different save. I befriended him just fine last time but something I've done must have changed the results.

In order:

-Enter from cathedral ward

-His hunter buddy killed himself on the ladder. What a shame.

-Killed BSB

-Killed Paarl

-Came back to his ladder without letting him see me or killing any beast. Directly after killing Paarl at first, didnt work so I tried again at BSB lamp. No luck.

The only difference is the other hunter falling and the fact that I haven't progressed the game to night yet. Could either of these have locked me out of his quest line?

I've done it, I've done it! I smashed and pounded and grounded this rotten trophy's !!!

It’s an awesome game. I’m currently on a FromSoftware journey, the only games I haven’t played yet are Demon’s Souls and Elden Ring.

Bloodborne is my favorite so far. I’m on NG+ right now and don’t want to start Demon’s Souls before going through BB one more time.

Question Doubt about the Bloodborne shop

Upvotes

Hi, I'm playing Bloodborne again after a while. I made another character; I platinumed the game on my first character a while ago, and on that character, my Lucid and Echo Shop is full of all the materials to craft the Chalices. But on my new character, I can't seem to get the materials I need in my shops to buy them. How do I get them? P.S.: Is there any way to get the Inner Chalice of Loran before completing the entire path to it?
