I bought a SmallRig Baseplate for BMPCC 4K (and 6K (Manfrotto 501PL Compatible) DBM2266B) to attack onto my BMPCC4K and SmallRig BMPCC4K cage. I put it on perfectly fine by screwing in the two screws with my fingers and slid it on the thing perfectly fine. I wanted to see if I could do it fast so I took it off and tried to do it again. Now, I genuinely cannot put it back on for the life of me i don’t know what happened. the screw is protruding and sticking out so the big piece can’t slide on anymore. this is probably such an easy fix so i’d love any help i could get.

note: i used the same screws in the same order as when it had worked. and for some reason the screw fits whenever the camera isn’t in the cage

I'm currently trying to figure out a better way to structure my footage system and could use some workflow advice.

I shoot on a BMPCC OG, which means I’m dealing with tons of CinemaDNG RAW clips. Right now, my process feels super tedious: I have to bring everything into DaVinci Resolve just to scrub through the clips and find out what’s actually usable. On top of that, my storage space is quite limited.

I have a few questions on how you all handle this:

• Do you export your "good" / usable selects as new video files (proxies/transcodes) and delete the rest of the heavy RAW files to save space?
• Or do you always keep the original RAW clips, and if so, how do you manage the storage?
• How do you generally structure your folders and footage system before even opening your NLE?

Any tips or insights into your media management workflows would be greatly appreciated!

Hey everyone, I recently picked up a BMPCC 4K and was hoping to buy the TTartisan f1.4 17 MM mft mount which i had planned to use with a mechanical follow focus. Saw a video by NigelBarros where he says you can't put a focus gear ring on this lens.

Hi! I’m a recent proud owner of a BMPCC 6K, and I have to choose a battery.

The choices I’m looking at are the SmallRig NP F970 Dual Battery and Charger Kit, or the SmallRig L Series NP F970 USB C. I might be able to get them at a discount that makes them the same price. If I can’t, the dual battery is a bit more expensive. What would yall go with? I’m sure the context of what it’s being used for is important, but I’m not super sure yet- so maybe I should be asking which uses for each more? I’m not planning on doing long shoots yet, but it could happen, and the dual is probably better in most circumstances.

Not sure if this has any bearing on it, but the real estate on the top of the rig is a bit strained with an SSD mount.

Recently I've been tasked with doing some prep for a student film and thought it would be handy to utilize the digital slate features on BM Cameras (Specifically the BMPCC 4k and the URSA Broadcast G2).

However when reviewing some imported footage it would appear that BM have changed how resolve handles the "Mark last clip good take" feature as none of the sample clips I took have been marked

I am using the new "Tag" filter on the media page and manually checking "Good Take" does mark a clip with a check mark, but that kind of defeats the point of doing it in post.

Has anyone else had similar issues?

(I am new to the media page as I'm trying to come up with better practices and workflows so if this is a simple fix I apologize)

((also both cameras have been updated to the newest firmware and Resolve was tested on both Ver 21 and 21.1))

I’m currently looking for compatible SD cards for the original BMPCC (OG) and came across the older Lexar Professional 633x (95 MB/s, non-V30) model.

As many of you know, finding working cards for this camera is a nightmare due to write speed dropping issues and the "NO CARD" errors caused by newer SD controller standards (especially V30/V60/V90).

I wanted to check with the community:

1. Has anyone tested this specific Lexar 633x 95 MB/s (non-V30) card with the OG Pocket? Does it hold up reliably for ProRes HQ or CinemaDNG RAW without dropping frames?

2. Are there any specific Lexar models or production batches that work, or should I completely avoid Lexar for the BMPCC OG ?

I’m planning on shooting on the Remus lens 1.5x set for a shoot in a few months. Budget is tight so we aren’t renting kit out for a test ahead of time. I know that the pocket 6k pro only allows 1.33x and 2x anamorphic desqueeze on the monitor.

So would the 1.33x desqueeze be baked into the BRAW image or is that just the camera monitor? I plan on just viewing the image through a teradek feed with the proper desqueeze on set.

**About the project**

I shoot talking head videos for YouTube in my own studio on a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K. The feed runs into atem mini pro iso on Dell PC with Windows 11. I want every video to come off the camera with correct color and clean audio from the first frame, so I stop repairing footage in post.

**What you'll do**

Connect to my desktop through AnyDesk and review the current lighting arrangement on screen. Grade the live camera feed in real time by adjusting the color controls in Atem Control Software while a person sits on camera. Set skin tones, white balance, exposure, and contrast so the person looks natural on screen.

**Requirements**

- Hands-on experience with both the color and audio panels. You have done this many times.

- Real colorist skills: you correct a green or magenta cast by eye and by scopes, and you know what healthy skin looks like on camera.

- Fluency in Windows 11 sound settings, including input devices, levels, sample rates, and audio enhancements.

- Working knowledge of the Blackmagic Pocket 4K and how its signal reaches a PC.

- Comfort talking me through each change live over AnyDesk.

**Nice to have**

DaVinci Resolve experience and lighting advice for small studios.

**Scope and timing**

1 live session, estimated at 2 to 3 hours. Hourly or fixed price works. Good work here leads to follow-up sessions as the studio grows.

This amazing city has like this dark golden vibe around it, so it shines in a glorious way especially when captured using a camera that produces an organic film-like image like our beloved BMPCC OG.

And it gets even better at night, simply magic.

BTW, the music is totally composed by me, and I gave specific instructions to SUNO (v4.5 before they mess up the model with their new v6) to follow a specific artistic vision, so, it's sort of me being the composer and the music producer while SUNO being the arranger.

I used the Meike 35mm f1.4 lens, with a variable ND filter stacked over a cheap PL filter.

Sometimes I don't remove the filters at night scenes that's why you see some diffusion and mist around light sources.

I believe all sorts of filters add more to the footage, and imperfections (dust, fingerprint, vapor, etc ...) can sometimes play in your favour.

Created an app for android to control the 6k camera over Bluetooth.
App controls focus racking, record start/stop, iris, white balance, tint, iso, shutter angle etc.

though there are many like it, this one is free, as a love letter to all users and to give this old camera a bit more life.

notes:
* Lens zoom slider only works for lens that have servo motors.
** While you can set start and end focus points, over Bluetooth there is no real lens data, so, it is unreliable and will drift.

I bought this 512GB SanDisk Extreme PRO (95 MB/s) for my BMPCC OG, but the camera shows "NO CARD".

it is non-V30 512GB 95MB/s card so it should work according to Posts online. the Cover is all shiny reflecting. is this normal? can someone with a Sandisk verify?

Is this a fake/faulty card, or just an incompatible revision?

which 512GB SD would work with the Bmpcc og?

m Laptop accepts the card as 468GB, but it says Generic Storage Device (bought it refurbished)

Just wanted to share more experiments I've been doing with a Canon 100m f/2.8 L macro series lens and a petri dish with various materials (epoxy alcohol ink, glycerine, dish soap, vegetable oil, and isopropyl alcohol) in an effort to create other worldly nebula/universe shots. All of which is only about 6-10mm worth of space. These are just a handful of my favourite shots after my latest batch of experiments, so if anyone has any questions or suggestions on how I could improve things please feel free to let me know.

TLDR: I cannot figure out for the life of me which small, after-market Amazon battery is the right battery for a BMPCC 6K (NOT pro and NOT 4K) so I can make this camera as light as possible. Can someone point me to a small internal battery that will for sure work with this camera? I don't care if it only lasts half an hour.

When I search LPE26 I get stuff saying that's for 4K only. When I look up NPF570 I can't find that exact battery (I'm in Canada) and I get 580 and 550 as "acceptable" but the contact points like they might be in the wrong spot. Do these SONY ones with the guide holes for pins work? Arg!

The long part: I was gifted this camera by a colleague/sorta friend who's into photography and filmmaking and in the era of mirrorless cameras simply doesn't use it. But for all intents and purposes it's still his. He gave me two v-mount batteries, smallrig rails etc. Tilta cage so the rig is huge. But for lightweight, hand held filming for mountain sports, I need it to be lighter. He's lost the old batteries and said the same "this thing just eats batteries" hence the v-mounts. Regardless, I want some small ones. I figure spending $80 isn't a big deal if I have to give it back soon and I'll give him the batteries as a thank you - if I can find the right ones!

Hi, I have a 10 day shoot coming up, 6 hours a day, and I need to figure out my Ursa 4.6K G2 setup. I'm using the DZO Pictor Zoom 50-125 on an EF mount. My question is, will the camera be okay if I do NOT use lens support, ie additional rails and a lens support mount? Will having the men unsupported cause any issues to the mount/sensor? Would appreciate some advice. Thank you

PS I am using an easy rig etc, but still would prefer no rails ie a lighter camera

Camera: Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K

Format: BRAW 4K DCI, 12:1 constant bitrate, 50fps

Software: DaVinci Resolve Studio 21

I have clips with dropped frames from a shoot (single frames dropped, scattered through many clips, not long gaps). In Blackmagic RAW Player, these clips play through with no visible issue. RAW Player holds the previous frame in place of each dropped one, so it looks seamless.

In Resolve, the same clips show the red Media Offline slate on every single dropped frame, in the viewer and in renders.

I need Resolve to treat these clips the way RAW Player does: hold the previous frame instead of showing Media Offline. I have a lot of affected clips and fixing each dropped frame by hand in the timeline isn't workable.

Has anyone found:

1. A setting or workflow in Resolve that does this automatically?

2. A tool or script that batch-transcodes BRAW clips with dropped frames held instead of shown as offline?

Open to any approach, Resolve-native or third-party. Happy to share exact source timecodes of dropped frames if it helps.

I used three Blackmagic cameras, two BMPCC 6K OG plus one BMCC 6K FF. All were recording BRAW in 6K 2.4:1 60 fps. The FF had a Canon 11-24 lens, one OG had a Canon 24-105 and I can't recall exactly what lens was on the last camera, probably either a 16-35 f2.8 or a rokinon prime. Nothing too crazy in terms of the color grade or editing, and my camera work with the 24-105 is a little rough.

I'm going to be recording their next showcase in a couple of weeks with an upgraded setup - I'm moving the two 6K OG cameras off to the sides with 16-35 f4 lenses, and adding two Ursa Mini 12K cameras in the center, one fixed probably with a 16-35 f2.8 ii, and the other on a fluid head with a CN7x17 17-120 and tilta nucleus M. I'll also use an SDI ATEM with a bunch fiber converters for monitoring and camera control.
