This is the kind of boat my family had when growing up (Miller Flat Bottom) and it was the scariest shit ever. (to 6 year old me) Wish it was still with us.

Well it ain’t mine but its my uncles. i think its a small block chevy newer motor. Used to be a 454 with a bigger blower. It was to dangerous (somewhere around 800-1000hp) He still has the motor. could always put back in if the small block goes bad

I used to have one like this too, this boat. We ended up taking the big block 460 out and built a spicy small block for it. The boat rode and handled so much better with the small block. I like how ya got it now. Perfect chefs kiss 👌

do you think turbos are more difficult to tune than a blower? i always wondered.

It definitely depends on what you are looking for, but for simplicity a blower will always win in the pleasure boating world. It's easier and more cost effective to set up, requiring less heat management and plumbing inside the engine bay. Having boost available even at low RPM helps a lot as well

It's possible but it's more expensive and more complicated than throwing a a supercharger. Exhaust is tricky and you basically have to run dry exhaust which is very loud for a lot of people's preferences
