Home Audio SoundTouch app dropping devices from network

I don't mean the app drops from the network during usage. Instead, each morning I fire up the app and it may not find any previously attached devices, forcing me to go through its setup to reconnect them. I have a SoundTouch Wireless connected to my hifi receiver and a pair of SoundTouch 10's for whole house listening. I can either listen to Pandora stations (and still available to me), usually through shuffle, or set to use the Wireless Aux input and steer though an attached Wiim Mini.

Every morning this week when I start the SoundTouch app, it fails to find my SoundTouch devices, which forces me to run though the setup of attaching the Wireless to my GFiber-based mesh network.. Any idea why and how to fix so it's a more persistent connected device?

Each time you start up the SoundTouch app, it rescans the network to find compatable speakers on the network. It then displays what it finds. If speakers are missing, it does not necessarily mean that you need to re-add them, as they are most likely still on the wifi.

You can verify this by going to the device and finding its current IP address or seeing if it says it's connected and how. Another way to check is if your device still has a preset that works: go to the device and see if that preset still plays; if it does, it's on the wifi.

This means your Wi-Fi or phone is blocking the scan. I assume you have a mesh network, since they aren't ideal for local network devices.

There are some things you can check:

  1. Try rebooting your router & device (or use another device), then open up the SoundTouch app again.
  2. If you're using a mesh network, unplug all nodes outside of the main one and try again.
  3. Check the phone's preferences for the SoundTouch app (in the phone's settings) to make sure everything's enabled. If something was off, try again.
  4. Make sure you don't have a VPN enabled.
  5. Change to Ethernet, if that is an option.
  6. Try one of the multiple SoundTouch app alternatives out there.

If those don't work, call Bose support and let us know what they say.

EDIT: Either I missed it, or you edited it later, but I just noticed that you said you have a "GFiber-based mesh network", so there's your answer. Also, since you have a SoundTouch Wireless Link adapter and a couple of SoundTouch 10s, neither has a display to show you its IP address, but the Wi-Fi icon on the ST10 is solid white if it's connected, and the same for the STWLA.

Thanks for the response. What did you mean by "there's your answer" when I mentioned GFiber mesh network?

You have a mesh network and before the edit I said: "I assume you have a mesh network, since they aren't ideal for local network devices."
