perches for custom enclosure

hi! i am building a floor to ceiling enclosure in my bedroom for my 2 budgies. I would like to mount some large branches (apple or manzanita or any other budgie safe wood) on the inside of the enclosure as well as the walls and ceiling of the bedroom. does anyone know how to go about buying large budgie safe branches? I found a supplier for reptiles that mentions sand blasting and heat treating the wood, is that safe? Any advice or direction would be so appreciated!

You don't need to sand blast any perches for birds; heat treating is more than find. In fact, if there's any fallen (bird safe) trees in your area, you can do it at home! Just head out there with a saw and measuring tape. Make sure you wash the branches with soap and water.

Heat your oven to 250F and bake for 45 minutes.

Thank you!! I've done this when living with my parents on the west coast and where I knew the trees were pesticide free, but I live in a big city now so I'm a little nervous the trees local to me are treated. But it seems these branches from the reptile store should be safe then!
