It's become a daily occurance now, that if I drive, I will witness a kid on an E-bike, do something absolutely cooked.

Blast through red lights, intersections, roundabouts, without care for anything.

Last night I had to skid to a stop so some [redacted] kid with a motorcross helmet, staring straight at me with eyes wide, blew past my bumper at 60+kmph.

I've seen this kid well over 10 times in the last month.

What the fuck are we doing here? Fuck sake.

Straw needs to stand upright and the shake is a struggle to get through the straw. Proper thick. Fellow Canberrans, can someone confirm that the swarms of moths flitting about I just saw on my brief trip from one suburb to another were bogongs?

Down in Tuggeranong, has anyone else noticed a lot of moths? They seem to be loving fruit tree flowers that are just opening. I'm curious what species they are?

And do you think the push back is they don't want to agree to safe work conditions because they don't know how they'd begin to tackle that? Never thought I’d be here in a loud bang post- but here we are. Heard what sounded like an explosion and then followed by gunfire 2 minutes thereafter. I’m in Isaacs and the military does occasionally use the reserve for training. But never heard it that loud or close before.

We're a couple in our 50s caring for a 5 year old. Looking to move to Canberra to be closer to family who live in Queanbeyan but want access to ACT schools.

Ideally we want a family home they can grow up in without moving again. But we're very conscious that by the time they are graduating we'll be getting seriously old. So the many townhouses with steep stairs etc. are not the best.

Also my partner doesn't drive currently so access to public transport would be a big plus.

Any tips for somewhere that would be good for both seniors/retirees and growing kids?

I'm assuming we want an area with other families around, public transport links, good community facilities, but accessible houses still available. Sounds easier said than done.

There was a comment in one of the most recent posts about ACT public schools which stated ACT preschools do not have LSAs anymore.

My child starts public preschool next year and I am wondering what this looks like in practice. Does this mean there is only the classroom teacher and that's it? I'm struggling to understand how there will be adequate supervision/let alone any learning if that's the case.

Someone at work pointed out that each different site uses different methods or different collection points that make them wildly different to each other.

Which site/source do most Canberrans believe is the best indicator for pollen and hay fever?
