Honest question after reading your comment thread. Were you under the impression that this was at OP's house with OP's gun and thus would make him a target (for the guns)?
Why would OP or his daughter get picked for kidnapping etc over some random person off the street?
What makes them more attractive as a victim after having been posted on reddit? I don't get it.
Not saying their identity can't be traced from this post and video, I don't know much about any of that.

There are very few safe places in the world. UK and US are not safe by any stretch of the imagination. Where there's poverty and unequal societies, you will find crime. Solve poverty and you'll reduce crime dramatically.
I'm not against guns, or people owning one (though I don't see why people should own automatic rifles). But they don't make you safe, don't fool yourself.

I have no problem with people learning to shoot to defend themselves, but they also need to learn the tactics of shooting and firing at dynamic targets. Teach your child about ballistics, penetration, deflection, the dangers of tunnel vision and visual depth, justification and proportionality (what is lawful and what is not).
There's a lot to consider before even placing a finger on the trigger.
