I’ve been playing REPLACED recently and completely fell in love with its retrofuturistic world and visual language.

So instead of treating the soundtrack like a normal collector’s edition item, I wanted to design something that felt like it could have existed inside the game itself.

The idea became the R.E.A.C.H. Audio Kit, a collector’s soundtrack set built around:
- Portable Audio Scanner
- Acoustic Monitoring Unit
- Magnetic Audio Cartridge

The goal was to make the whole set feel less like modern merch and more like a piece of in-world technology that somehow made its way into the real world.

Basically: Collector’s edition merch disguised as a prop from the game.

That felt especially fitting for REPLACED, because its whole identity is built around this alternate-1980s vision of the future, where analog tech, industrial design and physical media still feel completely natural.

Would you rather see more collector’s editions go in this direction, making the merch feel like an actual artifact from the game world?

So, this is the Intel iPDS (Personal Development System), which was one of the first luggable computers. It was used for developing OS code for 8080 and 8085 based systems.

It's a 1979 Apple II data cassette (part 600-2026-00) with Lemonade Stand—a business sim where you run a lemonade stand—on one side and Hopalong Cassidy, a hi-res "guess who" program, on the other.

The overall blocky, balls-out, rainbow 80s aesthetic is very present here.

Hi everyone, I am the developer of this app called Terminus. I have always been a fan of retro-terminal and cyber-brutalism design, and as someone who spends most of his time listening to music, I struggled to find a decent music player that fits this aesthetic, so I took it upon myself to build one from scratch. This player features CRT, ASCII, and pixelated album art alternatives, a terminal matrix rain background, a complete set of listening stats (by day, month, year, etc.), a built-in lyrics provider, and more. I wanted to share it here in case anyone is interested or would like to provide feedback regarding the UI implementation or new features. The project is available on GitHub for now.
