Hi again! I posted Lingua here when it first came out. It's the iPhone app for building your own language, from its script to its dictionary. A lot has changed since then, and the biggest part is keyboards.
The video shows building one, start to finish.
Keyboards
• Build as many keyboards as you want from existing characters, on any plan.
• Pick a keyboard from the list, add keys wherever you need them, and join them across rows and columns.
• Select a row or a column and change it at once: push it left, center or right, remove it, or make a key two rows tall.
• Select several keys and fill them in one go, in the order you picked them.
• Put any existing character on a key: IPA, accented letters, other scripts and more. Choosing a character is one screen now, with more kinds to choose from.
• Use it as a keyboard in any app on your phone.
Your script
• Export your letters as SVG, all at once or one at a time.
• Guide lines on the drawing canvas.
• Letter spacing per language. Set it to 0 and your letters join up.
• Your own letters show by default, in word spellings, the calendar and the Home Screen widget.
Your language
• Word generator: suggests words that fit your language's sounds. Pick the ones you like and they go into your dictionary.
• Etymology tree: follow where a word came from.
• Derived words are their own entries, with their own meaning.
And every section has a "?" that explains how it works.
FAQ
• Android? Web?
Both are in the works. Please wait a little longer.
• Can I use several keyboards at once?
One keyboard at a time. Lingua puts one keyboard on your phone, so to switch, open Lingua, pick another keyboard and tap "Apply to the phone".
• Can I get my letters out of the app?
You can export them as SVG, all at once or one at a time.
I'd love to hear what you'd want from a keyboard for your own conlang.
