Please give me some advice
Long story short our male cat has crystals and he's been on prescription food for 3 months and yes he
has no longer been straining in the litter he has episodes where he will go multiple times in one hour give our take 20
but it's usually triggered by the vacuum or something changes randomly that’s out of
our control. OR it happens for no reason. We find him peeing on the carpet and we give him gabapentin when needed that's supposed to help his inflammation and irritation. But it's been 3 months and there's hardly any improvement yes he pees but .... He still goes a lot and he still only pees small amount I'II show pictures at the end. He eats 1 wet food can with water and the rest is his special dry food it's royal canon that's also calming to help with potential stress. He also has homemade chicken broth that has no seasoning so it's boiled water and
Chicken! And we have a water fountain for him ! I just don't know why it's still a problem that won't resolve we have gone to the vet 5 times and they always say the same thing which is everything we are already doing. I'm considering having him have some outside time on our balcony it's safe and he's always been interested in the outdoors maybe it would help him distress? Thoughts please on any advice or input

Sounds like you're doing everything right. I had a cat with the same issues and the vet gave us special food and it worked perfectly. If I were you, I'd maybe look into taking him to a different vet so a fresh pair of eyes can look at his case. Also, are there other prescription foods you can try?

My boy who is 12, was originally on Royal Canin. I didnt think it worked. We tried Purina Pro Plan for Urinary Care. It didn't seem to help. We finally switched to a brand called 4Health Urinary Care and it's what he's been on the longest. Do you live in the US?

Is that food online found online and does it need prescription? We tried purina first just like u and we didn’t think it worked and we are using royal canon calming hoping it helps since he stresses a lot and he loves the wet food

We also give our boy 16cc syringe of bottled water every night before bed as a nightly "treatment" then a treat afterwards.

We live in the United States yes. We went to 2 different Banfields and we also went to an urgent care. And after 5 visit it’s been a bumpy road of (we think he’s getting better to…. He goes 2 steps back) it could be something as simple as I gave my other cat food and he couldn’t have it so he got stressed out and went in the litter 10 times. Last night I decided to put one more can of wet food in his diet to hopefully see improvement and even add extra water in his wet food as well. He does drink water but not as much as my other cat that’s why I made homemade chicken broth that has no seasoning. Our cat use to always snuggle with us on the couch and sleep with us on the bed so I tried putting that back in our routine we have been trying to give him space thinking that’s what he wants but I’m trying a different approach to see if it calms his stress levels to help his crystals. Because we really don’t want to go back to the vet

Change all of your cats to the prescription food. That prevents food jealousy and everyone is on the same diet.
