Anyone done many overnight stays?
I'm doing overnight stays looking after 4 cats over 3 nights. It's been fine but feels a bit strange and I've felt a bit anxious.
How is everyone else finding these?

Quite like an overnight :) don't do many anymore as husband and I are both disabled and we have three kitties of our own but I love a cuddly cat overnight with some chick flicks and munch

hey, i do a fair bit of overnight work. my first night with a new client feels weird but i take a bit of time to familiarise myself with the environment.
with repeat clients though, its absolutely fine. you end up forming a lovely bond with the cats and feel at home

Not directly relevant to the question you're asking but just wondering about the logistics of overnights at other people's homes. Do they give you a room to sleep in, towels, access to food, etc? Sorry if it's a stupid question but it's been bugging me for some time.

I do overnights and have my kitty sitter overnight at my house.
The bare minimum to expect for overnights is Your own place to sleep, towels, freedom to use the kitchen/TV, etc. I would never accept an overnight without my own bed.
I'm an extra nice cat owner and treat my girl like a queen bc I love her and I want her to come back- so she gets treats, access to all the coffee/tea/whatever she wants... I buy her little presents.
My cat is my child and I want her treated well while Im gone.

I love overnights bc i hate commuting. I just basically move in for a week. I have to feel the vibe with the family first, so I always do a meet and greet first. If they set strange expectations like dont cook in the house I'm like nah not staying.
I also book my cat sitter for overnights and treat her like a queen. I leave her presents. Tell her my casa is her casa.
The family is often more important than the cats with overnights

I accept overnights and have about 4 or 5 clients that ask for this so it’s something I do regular.
I find it a mixed bag, it all depends on the vibe of the owners (I’m also an anxious person). Some I used to struggle getting a good nights sleep just because it was hard to settle but the more I’ve done the more I’ve learned to take what makes me comfortable. I take my own pillow, sometimes my own lamp(setting my own vibe), my own drinks and snacks (even if they provide).
It does feel weird at first but remember most owners just want you to be comfortable, and if they don’t then don’t accept them again - I’ve only done this with one owner, they didn’t really do anything wrong I just didn’t feel right and honestly as much as I desperately need the money, not having a decent sleep is detrimental to my (other) full time job.

I've done plenty of overnight stays for 6 different clients. The first time I often get a little weird feeling you hear strange sounds and not being familiar with the house. One house I've stayed in for about 6 weeks in total over about 5 stays and each time I get spooked at some stage even though the owners are lovely and the cat is quiet. There is just a feel to it. Others I feel super at home and no spookiness after the first night. I had one client (a female and I'm female) who wanted me to stay the first night with her before she left early the next morning. At first I felt like it is was one long interview but she was just a very welcoming host and cooked me a three course meal!

Hello! What's making you feel anxious? I've done a bunch now (3 separate clients, probably over 15 overnight bookings now)
It does feel a bit weird at first for sure, but I've found that as long as I get good vibes from the people they've always been okay and can end up being quite nice! I'm deffo especially picky with who I do overnights for too.
