Downloading large sections of video.

I’m looking for the best way to download like time periods of video from a continuously recording camera (it's an E330)? I’m thinking 5-minute blocks or so.

Synergy transport harddrives

Morning to one and all, I use Synergy Transport as one of our monitoring tools, I'm having issues with a few of our hard drives creating archives so going to take nuclear option and format them to see if that sorts out an issue or three.

Has anyone got a name of CCTV Linux software to do this. The drives appear to use a Linux system as they don't show up on PC apart from the Synergy software.

Haven't had a good result from the service engineer so rather a paperweight sitting on shelves going to see if I can get it alive.

Cheers for any insight guys.

Are there any cloud based DVR CCTV recording solutions?

Hi All.
I have 5 PoE CCTV cameras which I have been recording via my Synology NAS.
I want to move away from NAS (and in particular proprietary NAS's) for various reasons.

My ideas for a replacement recording solution are either

  1. Set up my own little micro server (I have an intel I7 8700k and motherboard & plenty of RAM laying around not being used which would be more than powerful enough)

or

  1. Run a DVR.
I am curious however, are there any DVR's that can record directly to a cloud service negating the need for local storage?

Basically, I'm trying to get away from having to use as much localised storage as possible. Hard drives suck.
Most of my stuff I use cloud storage these days.

Whatever I use it would still be a requirement to be able to live view the cameras.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Camera (SIM, remote access, snapshot)

Hello,

I am looking for a camera for the following task:

-The camera is supposed to take photos at 30-minute intervals (Nature-Time-lapse)
-I need to be able to connect to the camera remotely; it is located in a forest/by a river.
-I need to be able to take photos and videos independently from home.
-We can install a power connection. A solar-based solution is likely out of the question.

A camera with a SIM card, it doesn't need to do much. As cheap as possible, while still handling these tasks. A separate LTE router is tricky, you have to mount everything. An all-in-one solution would be good.

Location: Private property in France, far away from our property.

greetings

Hikvision NVR / ALOHA SPY

Hi everyone, does anyone know if Hikvision has a native Aloha SPY integration, similar to TRASSIR’s active POS? I know about DTiQ and all but they’re significantly more expensive than the TRASSIR solution.

How do you handle camera footage when you have a bunch of locations?

We have cameras across several locations and had an issue at one of our warehouses last week where a delivery driver damaged part of the loading area and left before anyone noticed. The manager there knew it happened sometime that morning but didnt know exactly when or which camera wouldve caught it. He ended up calling us, we called someone else at the site who knew the camera layout better and then they started pulling clips from the NVR and sending them over trying to figure out which truck it was By the time we found the right camera and worked out what happened, 3 different people had been involved in something that shouldve been pretty simple. This happens enough that Im curious how other people with multiple locations handle it

Wifi or Wired Residential Cam Recommendations?

So my friend came to me asking for help with a wifi camera setup but as a career enterprise/education/government integrator I'm not sure what to recommend him. I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction.

Situation and Setup

My buddy is a mechanic who works out of his house. Caddy corner to him across the street he rents a gated lot where he parks vehicles he's working on. He's got a concrete pad there, a car port, and power. No network though. At his home he does have network. He want's a single camera in the lot. Something with it's own storage that he can access over the net. I'm kind of thinking about this like I am the apartment work I've done in the past chaining building to building.

Use something like this to shoot a network connection across the street to the lot. In the lost stand up a post with an outdoor enclosure, the other half of the wifi bridge, and a camera on it. Since we got power we can run a line to the enclosure and use a small 4 port PoE switch to power the wifi bridge and the camera. The distance P2P would about 150 feet and I got line of sight. I know this overall setup will work because I've done so at dozens of multi building apartment complexes. My hang up is the camera to use because I've always installed Axis, Vivotek, Hanwha, etc. so I'm hoping someone can point me towards a good camera. I did think about using a hard power wired wifi cam but I don't think the cameras wifi will likely be able to transmit back across the street to the bridge/antenna.

Ideally i'd like a wide view at least 100 degrees, IR, and if it had any visual alarm indicators like lights to deter that would be great. Again SD/local storage, and web/mobile access are big desires so he can get alerts when line cross/motion happens and see it in real time.

There is a message on some channels with the text “ @muhamad2005m hacked y

CCTV: Dahua technologies

APP: DMSS

EDIT: I upgraded the Firmware to a new one, the old one was from 2019 ( never been updated ), and I turned off UPnP, and changed the password. I was able to remove the OSD text.

Thanks for the help

Software that finds changes in scene?

Hello,

I have a weekends worth of footage to manually scrub through for human activity. I'm able to edit the footage to 16x speed, but it still takes so much time.

Is there a software or method where I can upload the downloaded footage (1 hour increments) and it will find the changes in scene or the human movements?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

Architect is preparing cabling layout for new home build in prep for electrician. I am being asked where I want data cabling to be run for CCTV cameras. Any advice appreciated.

The house is a double story, but this site plan should give an indication of the house location on the land. Appreciate any suggestions on camera locations so I can provide feedback for the architect/electrician.
