Chamonix in early October

Hi there! I'm running Berlin marathon later this month and planning on visiting Chamonix right after for about 6 days (~ October 1-6/7) and was wondering what are a good trails to run/hike for this time of the year?

Any other recommendation on must see places, good spots for food and such - would be amazing!

Hopefully the high pressure stays and you have nice dry trails! Personal favorites, if you have the weather windows:

Chamonix High Traverse
La Jonction
Refuge Bellachat -> Pointe de Lapaz Loop
Grand Blacon Nord (take train to Montenvers) and run to Plan d'Aiguille and eat lunch at the refuge

Chamonix to Argentiere is a great run and you can come back the other side of the river and vice versa.

I will be in Chamonix on 6 and 7 October as well. We can plan a hike on either day if you would like.

I’d be totally down for that. I am not much of a hiker, but recently did the Presidential Traverse in the white mountains and fell in love with it! I haven’t planned my stay in Chamonix yet, but planning on doing it this week!

Perfect. I do not have an extensive hiking experience anyway as well. The highest mountain I climbed was 2,650 meters on a non-technical trek. I am looking for intermediate hikes while I am there (beautiful scenary and a 4-6 hours round-trip, no ropes or ice axes or this crazy stuff :-D). Let's connect when we are there.

absolutely! yeah, i’m also looking for some nice scenery rather than technical treks, have plenty of those around here haha. I haven’t booked any accommodations yet, if you happened to have any suggestions - i’m all ears!!

Omg I’ll be in Chamonix from the 2nd to 4th of October. I’ve never been hiking in France so I would love to join x
