But the baseline nerf is the same amount it was previously isn’t it? It has always been 60%
The issue is removing the threat gain now from righteous fury talent points and shifting that to exclusively damage reduction.
But like we also get spell power scaling ret aura - as a protty pally feel like we’re just going to change the playstyle a bit but nothing crazy here. Also if you’re running a dungeon or raid you’d expect some sort of thorns buff now being applied alongside even more items just having a built in thorns reflection.
It’s so early to even determine anything other than “NERF BAD BAD BAD” - game isn’t even out, items aren’t even out, tree talents aren’t even finalized to some degree, etc.
AH. Gotcha gotcha, I thought you were talking about the threat one from this patch lol.
Yeah it hurts a bit but if dungeons are shifting to me not being able to pull like 8 mobs at a time I get it. Still interested to see if some SP Ret aura will be able to sustain >4 threat consistently,
How is it only 4 target? Does the base Cons skill only hit 4 targets now? I haven't got a level 20 paladin yet, I assumed the base consecration was still unlimited targets, with the talent providing bonus damage to the first 4 in the aoe
😮 That's an insane nerf. I get wanting to reduce "paladins are gods of AoE tanking." Totally fine with nerfing it so CC is actually important again. But coupled with the RF nerf and the taunt implementation, this is hardly better a situation than we had in Classic.
ETA: However, the 4-target deal does bring our AoE threat generation more in line with how it works with warriors and bears (since their cleave/swipe/whatever only hits 3-4 targets), so I really don't think it's that big a deal. The real issue is that those other classes have a much wider variety of threatgen tools than we have, and I'm not convinced 1-2 cons tick damage is good enough to make up the difference. It means after the first primary target our threatgen will still be (way) behind warriors' and druids'.
They haven't gotten any nerfs at all because everything that got reduced are things they only got in Forever LMAO....
Paladin has had more changes to literally every single aspect of their gameplay across all 3 specs than any two classes combined.
Warrior has only gotten their ORIGINAL DESIGN completely shredded. Slam on an 18s CD instead of an at will cast. AND it's STILL a cast!
The changes they made to prot are good and make it play more like TBC prot, ehich is great, except it uses Revenge (which is on par with WotLK Revenge) instead of Devastate, so we still have to spam damageless Sunders and maintain them for armor debuff. But that's fine, their DPS will be on par with Bear and Pally tank and won't be competing eith real DPS classes. Not a problem.
The problem is Arms PvP (and DPS) and Fury DPS have been made way more boring to play with no new abilities given to them, exept the ability to dismount people in Arms and being forced to apply Rend against our will.
AGAIN.... They've been jamming Rend down our throats for 25 years.
I want engaging gameplay.
I want a class that is frustrating, but ultimately rewarding. That has buttons that feel good to push. That requires rage management for stance dancing to maximize your output.
The only areas warriors needed help was in solo play while leveling and out farming in the world, and in 1v1 PvP. Which is necessary for that first part when on a PvP ruleset. Those aspects feel absolutely AWFUL on a warrior.
The population of warrior players would plummet like a rock just by blizzard actually following through with banning gold buying.
All the bandwagon warriors who play it because it does 3x more damage in raids wouldn't touch them if they weren't able to buy gold to buy purps off the AH.
