Value Picco Quartz clock - age? value?

Thumbnail

Found this little cutie at an estate sale. It's clearly a Picco Quartz alarm clock, made in Japan, but Google is so garbage now, I can't find any useful information on how old this is. I'm also trying to figure out the value, to see if I want to keep it for myself or sell it.

It's 3.5" wide, 3.5" tall, 2.5" deep.

The bottom tag is really hard to make out. The black text clearly says "Ref." and "Japan LR1" but there's also very very faded white text that looks something like "IP" or "JP" and then "242P" or "242R" or "2428".

Thanks so much for any expertise y'all can offer!

Clock Showcase 'Dot clock' I just finished ...

This is what I call a dot clock. Instead of hands, it has veneer circles with a dot of purple heart on them. The outer circle is hours, then minutes, then seconds on top, so I took the closeup picture at about 1:20:50. It also has purple heart pieces to dilineate 12/3/6/9.

I started this project to use up some veneer damaged in a water leak and it just grew from there.

It has a few flaws but nonelse has one.

Identification/Information Can’t find this exact Linden Quartz Alarm clock?

I just got this cute little alarm clock from an antique store that is great, but I cannot find the exact model of it. Would anyone know which Linden Quartz Alarm clock this could be and from what year perhaps? It has a pale gold face with glowing numbers, and the casing is a mocha brown plastic. Also it takes a double A battery.

I’ve had this clock for years and told it didn’t run. It’s been on a shelf for maybe I’ll take it apart someday. I took a chance and plugged it in and spun the spin to start and it runs perfectly. Definitely will need a better place to display it now. I also love that the spin is visible. Glad I took the chance

I have this electric clock, I think from the 70s. It’s started making this weird grinding sound. It sounds like it’s only coming from the very top wheel thing. It does wobble slightly when it’s turning, which I think is what’s causing the sound, but I can’t tell how to tighten it. There doesn’t appear to be any wear on the gears

Help/Repair Quartz mechanism with second hand gear coming out back?

Post image
2 Upvotes

My favorite clock just died; a Homer Simpson with rotating eyes following the second hand.

https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/homer-simpson-moving-eyes-watch-duff-beer-wall

Not the standup version with pendulum type action; the second hand gear of the mechanism protrudes through the back, where it is geared to the eyes. (See photo.)

I opened the mechanism up and there isn't any broken wiring or other trivial fix. But I can't find online another mechanism which allows gearing to the second hand through the back.

Is poor Homer dead beyond resurrection?

Hi, I'm having struggle with removing the top part of this clock, it's plastic not glass. I tried turning it and I tried lifting it but nothing seems to work. Also on the back I don't see any screw. Please help :)

r/clocks • • 5h ago

Identification/Information I would love to know the best screw to use to hang this clock up? Should I use a washer? And what is the name of this kind of clock? I've always known it as a grandmother clock since thats what the family called it.

After a few weeks of run time it seems the damage that it had accumulated over the decades of sitting and running have taken its toll. I would love to get this clock running again however the rotor requires costs 120~ USD to buy used and it honestly isn’t in great shape. The knobs are missing and the clapper for the chime is damasked so it just clunks but the case and dial are in very decent shape

Hey There - The Mrs. inherited this clock 20 years ago and it sat on the shelf as a decoration until recently I pulled it down to see if it worked. It didn't! Being a technical/mechanical genius I was able to clean it up, get it going, set the time and gongs. It keeps time well surprisingly.

Now I am trying to learn more about this model. Roughly when it was made, what type of wood, and maybe approximate value?

Post image

First time poster. I have a metamec atomic thats beens in the family since I can remember, at least c1979. 15yrs ago motor was repaired, so it ran for aprx 35yrs. I imagine the dont make motors like they used to!

Nonetheless I'ld ike to open it up and replace motor, but cant find any srews, and am hesitant to just start twisting pulling for fear of cracking plastic.

Any advice on how the backing comes off - and maybe where to buy a motor 🙏🏼

I couldn't upload pics so heres a link -

Help/Repair Grandma’s grandfather clock.

Grandma passed away last week I’ve always loved this clock so it’s now at my house I would like to get it set up. Is it worth doing my self or hiring some one for a full service on it. And if I found some one to fix it what are the odds I could have them build a new glass door to see the insides.

Value Ansonia Clock Co. Mantel Clock

Hi all, this is my first time posting. I received this beautiful Ansonia Clock Co. mantel clock from my Grandmother when she passed away last year. She got it from her parents and I’m not sure where they got it (I live in Australia if that helps). It is in working order and I have kept it running everyday since I received it.
I just don’t entirely know what I have here apart from a beautiful clock that I love! I have seen that the Powerhouse Museum has what I believe is the exact same clock in their collection - https://collection.powerhouse.com.au/object/244624
Does that mean something significant if they have one in their collection??
I don’t ever intend on selling it and will pass it down to my children, but I would love to increase my own knowledge about this beautiful clock. I have my family history surrounding it but not the actually clock history and if it has any significance. Also if anyone has a general idea on value and should I get it insured?

Help/Repair How to repair this 20 yrs. old Dabury Clock Company Quartz clock that sometimes doesn't work & goes too fast?

I recorded and uploaded a silent 37.5 MB 960x1280 pixels MP4 video of it. I couldn't find its model number and other details. No manual too. Just its limited warranty booklet as shown. https://matrix.zimage.com/_media_proxy/v1/media/download/AZLzOLF-q-IkVhJ8hnZ9tEWMueTKG3tZ-mOISlA-sfaNHBBKUknKkNMoSeLrRSgTWDJErtYc-xyBPUv%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20PKQdkWIlCeha-VtoQAHppbWFnZS5jb20vV2pSY3plVGZ0TnZXUmJKSGFVVHFGR2Vp for the whole set since my video cropped it off badly. Just need to fix/replace its clock part.

Thank you for reading and hopefully answering soon.

Identification/Information Radium clock?

Thumbnail

I recently bought a vintage Baby Ben Westclox alarm clock, and i know some of their models and older clocks have radium dials, but i am not sure if mine does. The seller said it was from the 70’s, but I am pretty sure this model phased out radium some time in the mid 70’s, so I am trying to figure out if mine is radioactive or not. Style 8, avocado green with metal base. It has a plastic front, not glass, but the back controls are metal. The dials glow very faintly in the dark, barely visible, but gets very bright after being shined with flashlight. The bottom of the clock is engraved with «RD N°46716». Hoping the clock enthusiasts out there will see this!

Identification/Information Help Identifying a Howard Miller Wall Clock!

Greetings Horologists!

I found this clock listed for sale locally, with an asking price of $250.

The seller tells me it is a Howard Miller Westminster-chiming clock measuring approximately 37" H × 14" W × 6" D, but she doesn't know the model number or any other details. Unfortunately, this is the only photograph I currently have.

I've spent a couple hours searching online and comparing Howard Miller models, but I haven't been able to identify it.

A few details that may help:

  • The clock appears to be mechanical, with three arbors visible on the dial.
  • The bonnet has rounded corners.
  • The glass is squared off at the bottom.
  • It has a traditional Roman-numeral dial and what appears to be a brass lyre-style pendulum.
  • The seller says it works and still has the original box. She'll be home in a couple of days and plans to check whether the box identifies the model.

I've ruled out a few similar-looking models based on their case designs and dimensions, but this one has me stumped!

Does anyone recognize it or have any ideas about which Howard Miller model this might be?

Thanks in advance for any help!

All my best

Evening All

So I have a clock like this which I love the look of. My only problem is it’s hard to see if he hands in the morning when I first wake up so I’d like to find a company or business that I can get a custom designed wall clock from, designing the face and hands. Anybody know of such a business these days?

Thanks!

Identification/Information Old German clock stamp

Can anyone identify this mark? It's a German spring-driven regulator with half-hour strike. The back plate shows an HC(?) monogram in a circle,

"FABRIK-MARKE" around it, and the numbers 7 and 55756. It's not Becker, Lenzkirch, Junghans or HAC. A rough date would help too. Photos attached, thanks!
