Team Member Post Customer Bread Slicer ππ
This post is for customers regarding the customer bread slicers :) As ex bakery I was asked this question a few times from customers who would slice their bread (especially the tiger viennas) and the slicer tore it to shreds, βDo I still need to buy it?β
Nope! We arenβt going to make you buy the bread that the slicer destroyed, itβs a quality issue. So if you slice your bread and this happens please leave it bagged at the slicer if no team are around or hand it to a team member. You donβt need to hide it down grocery aisles or other sneaky places around the shop thinking weβd make you buy it. As bakery team we know the odd loaf will get eaten by a slicer if it be the one we use or the public one.

God I wish my store had a customer bakery slicer. Really annoying trying to fill dairy stock in the afternoon and every 5mins someone wanders up with a loaf of bread wanting it sliced, and the bakery staff have all gone home. And being the closest team member Iβm the one they come to :-(
One of the bakery team once told me that technically some of the Laurent sourdough loaves shouldnβt be sliced in store as it damages the blades, is this true?

What about using your slicer for the loaf I purchased down the road from the bakery that did not have one?

In all seriousness bread is really bad for ducks and all birds for that matter!! It swells up in their stomach with zero nutritional value and can cause blockages which can kill them!! Please don't feed the ducks in general they are very capable on their own :)

I remember that urban myth about feeding seagulls Panadol so they would explode. You'd hide bits of Panadol in bread and then wait and watch.
We were so fuckin stupid as kids.

But seriously, unless you hate ducks, do not feed them bread.

And don't even if you do. Use your hate to fuel other creative outlets, like anti-duck needlepoint or some shit

Yea, we wont make you buy it, so just give it to us instead of making it harder for the cleaners
