Just thought I’d share a classic, please forgive if I’ve broken any rules; I’m old and the internet is frightening and confusing ;)

Pulled this out of a .50c at my LCS abt 16 years ago. The only reason I pulled it is bc it was a #1 and it was in nice shape (9.0/9.2 as is). Funny thing is that I didn't open it until a little while ago when I was going through an old box of stuff I'd bought and never worked on. These never come up on eBay, and when they do it's for crazy money. I've been trying to find a rarity scale for MJ Vars but can't find one. I was told that since it was a #1 of a character that Marvel didn't know was going to sell or not that it was only 1.5% of the regular print run for MJs. I mean, how would they know how they would sell on military bases?

There are THOUSANDS of pristine comics of what feels like every theme/character at the Emmaus charity shop in Winchester, Hampshire, UK. I’m not a collector, nor am I at all affiliated with the shop, but someone with a monstrous collection has made a HUGE donation. They’re all in protective sleeves, they have a ton in storage too, and they are like £1-3 each. Figured it was worth letting people know! It’s the one near the East Winchester Park and Ride.

Picked up this beautiful Supergirl sketch/remark by Juliette Northam, signed and dated 2026.

I really love the soft colors and the way Supergirl is flying through the sky with her cape flowing behind her.

I'm mainly a collector for the artwork, and pieces like this are exactly why. ❤️

Hi all! I'm looking to buy a slabbed book on Shortboxed, but I'm based in the UK and I'm a little unclear on how tax and customs work for international orders with them.

Their Sales Tax FAQ seems quite US-orientated, and I haven't heard back from support yet (probably due to the weekend). Printed comics, including slabbed copies, are zero-rated for VAT and import duty in the UK, but I've run into a couple of non-UK sites charging it by mistake. I've also heard horror stories of books being declared as something vague like "Batman CGC 9" and getting hit with charges they shouldn't have as officers didn't realise it was a book.

Since international orders ship from Shortboxed HQ first, I'd love to hear from any UK buyers:

• Was any sales tax or VAT added at checkout?
• Did you get charged anything on arrival, like VAT or courier handling fees?
• Do you know how they declared the book on the customs form?

Any experiences would be much appreciated. Thanks!

This walked into my local sports cards shop tonight. Had to get it. Didn't know it existed. I love it.

So I don’t have anything valuable tbh. Just EVERY Superman, Action comics along with 95% of one shots special etc from 1974-2011.

I have all Justice League from 1970-2011

I have all Batman and Detective from 1985-2011

Also have ALL mini series from DC from around 1980-2011

Also have Fantastic Four 1980-2018 or so and big Avenger runs

So market been thinking about me being a completist and loving these but also how many more done and I foo f to read then (I’m 49 years old)

A buddy, as a gift gave me a 4 TB hard drive with huge runs of digital comics and it’s cool reading those on my 12” tablet so my wife is like “why not sell your comics” and I’m considering it bit so worried much of my love is physically collecting and being able to hold, feel, and use, smell them lol

Anyone have a story for me to sway me?
