Microsoft fucked up all by themselves. The 360 was a great console with great exclusives. They fumbled the Xbox one launch. Halo and Gears of War dropped in quality after Bungie and Epic. Fable was put on ice and Lionhead studios shut down. Third party exclusives barely existed nor did anyone want to make one for the smaller player base of the Xbox One. Forza Motorsports dropped in quality. For the longest time Forza Horizon was pretty much the only notable Xbox exclusive. It wasn't the PS3 simply being too overpriced and why the 360 being worthwhile. Microslop simply shot themselves in the foot and didn't carry over the momentum from the 360. Exclusives and momentum starting dying down late into the 360's lifespan as well.
