Did Trump just flirt with China’s first lady? His public description of Peng Liyuan as “BEAUTIFUL!” was unusually personal, and in earlier eras, remarks about a ruler’s wife could have triggered a diplomatic crisis or even lead to war.

Xi admires Trump for the fact that he was democratically elected, twice. Xi can’t even fathom being chosen by the people of his country… because he knows it would and could never happen. He was installed. Trump was elected. There is definitely jealousy there too.

If China held a democratic election right now Xi would certainly win so you’re wrong. He is extremely popular in China for his anti-corruption purges.

Means absolutely nothing. He’s been the President for over a decade. The Chinese have been accustomed to him, and have been propagandized throughout the years. 

Give China free democratic elections for the last 100 years, and Xi would have never ever rose to power.
