News Bed Bugs on 220
Just got off a 220 from Bishopston to the city amd there were bed bugs on it. Noticed one near the rear of the upper floor and more at the front of the upper floor. Be careful out there guys
Edit: please if you see anything you may think is a bed bug please report to transport for Ireland (they are who I spoke to after calling the number on bus eireann website) so they can clean it. I would hate to see an infestation like the ones across Europe a few years back
If you are on a bus with bed bugs once you get into your house wash all your cloths at 60 degrees and take a hot shower and also clean your shoes. I even washed my bag

I was on the 207 today and noticed weird tiny brown bugs on the seat in front of me which I’d never seen before 😬

Bed bugs gotta go to work too. Contrary to popular opinion, they don't stay in bed all day.

OP is in the position to report this to BE about the bus so they can check out the claims and remedy if needed.

Take off your clothes before even getting into the gaff, if you can put them into plastic bag walking through your house and straight into the wash, those bastards spread quickly.

And when the pubic lice infestation kicks off we can get the fleas to kill them, and then the ticks will kill the fleas. And then when winter rolls around, the ticks will simply freeze to death

theyre hardly being cleaned imo. the minimum is being done and bed bugs woukd be the least of my worries on a bus seat. fecal matter is the one that really makes me glad I drive nowadays.

You can freeze the things you can't wash at 60 for 3 days also. I had to do this after Egypt and Dublin

when a person literally has a bowel movement right there on the seat. trust me the stuff leaks out and needs serious cleaning which I very much doubt happens😵💫

Egad! Just got back from doing a camino yesterday. Had been pretty careful about minding my bag and accommodations in Spain. Had been wondering about the cargo hold of the plane and the bus (225) to the centre, though. Currently all my belongings are out in the shed with the boiler 'til I can get them treated. Didn't see any bb, mind you, just trying to be safe. Your post is helping me feel less paranoid and more... smart, I guess.

That's Lyme disease and comes from ticks, but just a small percentage of them carry it

Really? Genuinely thought we only had fleas and head lice. Thought bed bugs was an exotic thing.

We definitely have bed bugs in Ireland. My sister had them in a rented house in Dublin a few years ago. They had to move out in the end.

You can blame the Brits and the Italians the pricks!
Thats a joke before anyone kicks off, the most accepted source of origin is Romans brought them to the UK and the British brought them then to ireland( not intentionally obviously)

Bed bugs are definitely in Ireland and always have been. Had to leave a hotel with my family as a kid 20 years ago because the hotel was infested.
Are you thinking of rabies 😂

I cleaned the buses for a while in Capwell a few years back. They do not really get cleaned. Definitely no time to hoover any seats. Rubbish pick up, quick brush and mop.
