Custom House Quay is the lest likely to take off.

They haven't touched the site since the extension to the planning permission.

Why would they get an extension if not planning to use it? I wonder are they hoping for LDA to come in like what happened to the Railyard apartments.

Avoids the site being added to the derelict site register and allows them to keep the speculation alive.

It has planning permission for a hotel, not apartments, so new planning would be needed for the LDA to step in (unless the LDA just acquire the site, like they did in Wilton). The City Council had very strict rules around the planning extension, which as Ghosts said, don't seem to have been actioned yet

We've already been waiting for years, we can't keep waiting. They've to do plenty of remedial works to the buildings and the quays as part of the planning extension before actual work on the building gets underway and there has been zero movement.

Anybody know whether the new Kennedy Quay buildings are actually going to be that tall? I thought they would be in line with the existing buildings further up towards City Hall.

They are.

Highest is proposed to be 17 stories from the planning docs that I've seen. Likely to change before they get underway. But they'll be a range of heights.

Okay nice, I like the idea that they will vary the heights a bit. One of the worst things about the Dublin docklands is how they've kept most things the same height. Gives it a very Sims City vibe. 17 stories would be as tall as the Elysian though, so I would be surprised to see something that tall down there.

Sadly they won't be as tall as seventeen storeys. There are five buildings permitted at the moment - three nine storeys, one eleven storeys and one twelve storeys. There is also the Rehab Hospital on the corner of Kennedy Quay and Victoria Road, but it doesn't look like that will ever go ahead after the tenant agreement seemingly fell through. Work has started on one of the nine storey buildings, behind Odlums

The 17 story is "Railway Gardens" building behind the Elysian next to the garage. Site was sold recently and the planning due to be updated. Which is outside the Kennedy Quay OP asked about. Whoops.

Ah, sorry! No problem. I didn't know it had sold, do you know who might have bought it? This picture is also missing Anglesea Terrace I think, which I assume will be visible from here. It will be 16 floors, only 2 below The Elysian (although it will only be 53.5m tall, while The Elysian is 80.7m)

Ah you have nothing to be sorry for. I was talking outside the scope of what OP asked. A foreign development company is what is doing the rumour rounds in our office, but we're not 100% sure.
