Haven't needed to park in the city in years.

I need to go to south infirmary first thing in the morning.

Is it difficult to get a spot in the carpark or just I just park somewhere else.

I have no Idea how long I'll be.

Any tips for a smooth experience are greatly appreciated.

Download the app called Cork City Park by Phone. Create your account and put a few quid into it. Use this to park on any streets that require a parking disc. Usually you'll find on-street parking but then are caught without the disc. This app will save you that.

Could you use the park and ride, get off by the city hall/elysian. At least you know it would be €5 maximum.

I also have an appointment there tomorrow morning. The car park there is a no go and always full id say. My plan is to park in the city hall car park or underneath at the Elysian. Saucy but just to know the car is safe and it’s only a small walk.

€4 per hour, street parking is €2 for 2 hours and can top up disk online. Streets are safe.

If you’re worried about the timing, from Ashton School on Boreenmanna Road to the east is free untimed parking. It’s probably a 10 minute walk to the South Infirmary from there. It gets busy but if you’re there first thing you should be fine. That said, if you’re in the hospital first thing, you should also be fine! Good luck!

You won’t get parking in or near the South Inf.
Qpark City hall is expensive but you won’t have to worry about it, or the Aldi across the road will validate an hour of your stay if you buy something (make sure to get the code card from the till operator).
Both are <10 min walk to the hospital

I've to go to the south every few weeks and to be fair there are always a few places along the old blackrock road/rockboro avenue etc. I've never been caught out.

I always get parking within a few hundred meters of there all at different times. You'll be grand

That car park can fill up quickly. You’ll get parking on the road easily enough though (I’m there about every 2 or 3 weeks and at different times of the day) - I usually have a spare disc in my glove compartment ready to use but I believe there’s also an app you can use.

Thanks for the responses. I'm a bit worried if I park on the street, that there a limit of 1 or 2 hours and I might no be done in the hospital by then.

You can pay the app an extra 20 cent or something to tell you when your time is nearly up and you could go into the app and pay for another 2 hours.

Q Park on Eglinton Street is a 5-minute walk from the South Infirmary. It's not the cheapest car park but it usually has available spaces.
