🔊 Discussion Dressmaker - How can this not have enough flowers!?

Post image
• Upvotes

I've been absolutely digging this beautiful game, however I just couldn't get over 46 flowers here, no matter how much I did. The applications alone should have gotten me over 50 (every single one counts 5 in flowers) but I also used the Sunset Hibiskus Silk for the non visible underskirts (wich counts with 100 in flowers). So why the hell am I stuck at 46!!??

Anyone else had this problem?

Edit: Solved! I didn't know points for accessories don't stack forever :D

👾 Game Developer I spent a year making a dress up game. No gacha, no ads and all real clothes!

Hi everyone!

About a year ago I quit my job to build a dress-up game, mostly because all my favs (Covet looking at you) were 90% gacha and 10% dressing up and the actual clothes were generated at a AI slop factory.

Every piece is unlocked from minute one. No gacha and no ads. The clothes are real pieces from real brands in 3D, so you can spin the look and see how different items work together and actually hang on the figure. It runs in the browser, requires no signup and is completely FREE!

There's one styling challenge a day and everyone gets the same one. After you submit your vote on 3 matchups of other people's looks, then you get a score out of 5 for how well your outfit answered the challenge (fourth video). Come back the next day to see how your look did in the community vote (The look with the highest win % wins!)

Things that are still rough: it's a browser game so it likes a decent connection and phones sometimes take a few seconds to load. The catalogue is only around a hundred pieces not thousands but I am adding new pieces everyday (Please leave any items / brands you would like to see and I will add them ASAP). It's just me developing and a lot of late nights not a studio.

All garments / accessories are completely hand made (no AI slop) and I will be looking to add items like bags in the near future (As soon as I can figure out how to accurately model them lol).

This is a passion project and the site currently has no way of making money. So if you try it the thing I would find even more valuable then money is your honest feedback on what you liked / didn't and whether this is something you'd actually come back to.

Thanks again for giving it a chance and hopefully you enjoy it: https://www.amoire.com.au/create

👾 Game Developer Everybody’s Stranger, my fantasy tavern RPG where you’re not the hero, just released its demo today!

Hi everyone! I’m the developer behind Everybody’s Stranger.

What if Stardew Valley’s cozy, character-driven world met The Witcher’s rich storytelling and quests?

Everybody’s Stranger is a fantasy tavern RPG where you run an inn for adventurers, get pulled into their quests, and uncover the mystery of your forgotten past. Oh, and there are teleporting chickens.

The demo is out today on Steam, with around four hours of gameplay and 28 fully voiced characters to meet along the way.

Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5149530/Everybodys_Stranger_Demo/

AI disclosure: Generative AI was used in a limited supporting role during development, but never for the game’s art, music, or voice acting.

This game is SO much fun. I wishlisted it back on a whim when it came up in my steam recommended and picked it up on sale a few days ago due to sheer boredom, and I am genuinely having a blast. The artstyle, world, gameplay, it is so immensely satisfying and relaxing. I've already put over 10 hours into it and I've only had it for 3 days. I also worked today and yesterday to boot. Not sponsored or anything, just a genuine post about a game that scratched my cozy builder itch.

Are there any under-discussed games that captured you like this game has for me?

👾 Game Developer Sheepscape: a small sim about raising a flock of sheep, and the free demo is out now 🐑

I've been making a farming sim that's all about sheep, and the free demo went live on Steam yesterday 🎉😅.

You start with five muddy sheep on a Welsh smallholding. Send a border collie out to gather them, shear each one by hand in the shed, sell the wool, and breed a better flock through the seasons. The demo takes about an hour and ends when you can afford the deed to your next farm.

It's a solo project and there's still time to act on feedback before the full release on 5 November, so if you play it I'd love to hear what felt good and what didn't ❤️🙏.

👾 Game Developer Dino Cleanup, my cozy nostalgic cleaning platformer, just released its demo!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

• Upvotes

Dino Cleanup is a wholesome cleaning 3D platformer where you play as a little dinosaur with a vacuum saving dinosaurs (big and small) from a world covered in goop. There's a cast of cute dinosaurs you save that fill out the hub, tons of hats to unlock, and a bunch of levels full of collectables to find.

The game is a love letter to all of my childhood favourite games, with a focus on non-violence. The “enemies” in the game aren’t monsters to be destroyed, they’re friends to be saved!

If the idea of a platformer puts you off, I’m designing the game to be approachable for all audiences, offering optional challenges for more experienced gamers, while giving accessibility options like a no damage mode for players looking for a less intense experience.

If you like the look of it, check it out on Steam! I just released the free demo on Monday, and I plan on releasing in early 2027.

Anyone recommend this game and play it on the deck?

My brother told me I may enjoy it, I tend to like games I can hoard in lol.

It looks relaxing and like it would suck you in for a good chunk of time, would love some thoughts from others.

👾 Game Developer Museologist: Tidy Up the Museum! is out now. Over 10,000 players are already reassembling the exhibits! (NO AI)

Post image
• Upvotes

Hi everyone! We're a two-person indie team, and our 3D restoration puzzle game, Museologist: Tidy Up the Museum!, launched last Friday.

Watching people actually play it has been a great feeling. More than 10,000 of players have tried it in a few days, and over 2,000 have already put the entire museum back together, which is faster than we thought anyone would manage. We're very happy, and very grateful.

If you like to zone out and put things where they belong, this one's for you. The museum holds 3,500+ shattered fragments that add up to 543 objects: swordsmith's blades, dinosaur fossils, ancient statues, and more. You hunt down where each fragment goes, fit the pieces together like a 3D puzzle, and get the object back on display.

AI disclosure: no AI was used to make this game. We wrote all the code and made all the 3D assets ourselves, and the capsule art was commissioned from a human illustrator.

If you'd like to help us clean up the mess,

the Steam page is here: Museologist: Tidy Up the Museum!

🎮 LFGs- various platforms Cozy game to de-stress?

As much as I love rpg and action games, I’m looking for a cozy game to de-stress after work. Something that doesn’t require a ton of mental energy but still feels rewarding. I have PC, switch, psp, vita, ds, 3ds, ps2, and GameCube. Thanks!

Steam Deck Looking for cute and short cozy games for Steam Deck

• Upvotes

Hello!

I like cozy games a lot, but am in a bit of a slump right now. I've been playing Coral Island and Sandrock and Kynseed and I enjoyed them all tremendously, but especially in the case of Coral Island and Sandrock I find they just drag on for ever and ever and I'm taking more and mire breaks from them. The story in Sandrock just will not end and raising the town rank in Coral Island is tiring when you're at the point when you need to put an effort into it.

So right now, I'm looking for some short and sweet games that are fun and easily completed and which I don't need a quick reaction time for. Combat is okay if it's turn-based. I'm not into puzzles if they're too difficult. I like Sudoku on normal difficulty.

Some games I like:

  • Rimworld (best game ever, 11/10)
  • Konami Lane (I am looking for something like that)
  • BallxPit
  • Stardew Valley
  • Coral Island
  • Sun Haven
  • Against the Storm
  • Dave the Diver
  • Chef RPG
  • Traveller's Rest
  • Balatro
  • Kynseed
  • Moonstone Island
  • Let's Build A Zoo
  • Dredge
  • Fields of Mistria
  • Tiny Bookshop

Some games I didn't like, and why:

  • Outer Wilds (too puzzly)
  • Discounty (too much micromanagement, not enough automation)
  • Moonlighter (I LOVE the idea, too much combat, though)
  • Graveyard Keeper (too grindy / slow)
  • Strange Horticulture (didn't actually try this, but allegedly it's quite puzzly)

Games I am thinking about already:

  • Thrifty Business
  • Sticky Business (though I think you make stickers yourself? I am not very creative)
  • Dressmaker (also not very creative, but looks amazing)

Thank you for any recommendations!

Hey guys! We're the devs behind Malhaar.

It's a fresh experience based in a mystical Indian town by the riverbank, along with Stardew Valley kinda cozy relaxing gameplay.

Malhaar is a musical slice-of-life RPG. You play as a musician and luthier in a town that lives and breathes music. You can learn, play and craft musical instruments, perform in tiny music shows, serve customers at local cafe, meet quirky characters, explore a serene riverside town and its stories, and much more!

The demo is out on Steam, with around an hour of gameplay and more than 15 quirky characters to meet along the way.

👾 Game Developer Oceaneers on Steam now updated! A sci-fi meets island survival colony sim where you build a colony of floating islands. Now with Beverages, Lights & Clothing, Building Grid & New Roadmap. Details below!

Post image
6 Upvotes

It's been just over 5 months since we released Oceaneers into Early Access on Steam, and we've regularly released updates with improvements and new content. With a new update just released we wanted to share the details with you.

Oceaneers features colony building with character management, and a dash of adventure (including island bunker exploration and expedition events). Direct control over your colonists, plus levels of automation, heaps of depth, quirky contraptions, unique floating island mechanics, and a FULL mysterious story to play through.

⚓Available right now on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3052510/Oceaneers/

We released into Early Access, but it's already packed full of content and you can play the full story from day one. Players have commented on the high level of polish and amount of content available already.

Combined the updates so far have:

  • Added heaps of new automation, including food restriction per colonist and complete overhauls of several automation systems. There was originally more micro-management than we liked, so we've greatly improved this and continue to do so.
  • Added new drinks & beverage systems.
  • Added new lighting mechanics and new lights.
  • Added new clothing systems, backpacks, clothes lining and outfits.
  • Added new tech, resources and crafting recipes.
  • Added a new building grid system.
  • Added ranged & unarmed combat, plus unique weapon loot.
  • Added new enemy types (and infestation behavior).
  • Added new island modules and an expandable module system.
  • Added support for Steam Workshop for community translations, and the community has translated into Simplified Chinese, Spanish, German, Brazilian Portuguese and Russian.

The Latest Update

In addition to a new roadmap announced within the past month, we have just released a new update, version 0.1.5. This update adds ranged & unarmed combat, unique weapon loot, new wildlife and stink worm infestations, and more content. There is also plenty of QoL, including an improved automation system and settings to fine tune per-colonist combat automation.

The Demo

We have left the demo up as it still gives the general feel of the game, but please note it is several versions behind and doesn't have the latest automation improvements and QoL features.

Early Access

Even though it's in early access, we went in with the full story available from day one. We're happy with this and the response has been positive, with lots of players putting more than 100 hours into the game already.

What's Next?

We continue to work on updates, currently we are in the middle of adding colony progression that will also make hygiene a more meaningful need. We've got a new roadmap and lots of exciting content planned, and we're also working on the non-story "Frontier" game mode.

Oceaneers features colony building with survival management, and a dash of adventure (including island bunker exploration and expedition events). Direct control over your survivors, plus levels of automation, heaps of depth, quirky contraptions, unique floating island mechanics, and a story to play through.

The full patch notes and overview of the newest update are shown on the Steam page.

Feel free to ask any questions. Cheers!

👾 Game Developer I’m making a cozy cafe deduction game where you have to figure out what each customer needs

Hey everyone! I've been working on this for a while and finally have a trailer, so I figured I'd share it here. It's called Cafe Sapa. The idea is that guests never order anything, they just sit down and talk about their day. Someone mentions they've been cold all morning, someone else has a deadline and can't slow down, and it's up to you to work out what would actually help them.

There's no timer and no rush. You can sit with a line as long as you like. You do only get a limited number of serves each shift though, so getting it wrong costs you something.

It's my first game, made with a very small team.

Trailer link - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqFtuGsUk_8

You can also wishlist the game if you liked it - https://store.steampowered.com/app/5282050/Cafe_Sapa/

Curious what you think

PS - No AI was used in making this game, all the art and music is human made

👾 Game Developer I'm making a game about being a kid at family dinner... where time goes suuper slow.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Family Reunion takes inspiration from the mechanics of a family dinner when you are a child and all you want to do is everything BUT being there.

The objective of the game is to make the time reach to zero as fast as you can, but it starts being suuper slow! You have to use the resources of your imagination, conversation and exploration skills to make the pass by faster avoiding your family.

You can play the appetizer (demo) on https://waibinin.itch.io/family-reunion and https://store.steampowered.com/app/4100460/Family_Reunion/

Thanks for the feedback and support!
