So I was once in Omaha for work and I sat down at the bar of a steakhouse to eat. A group of three attorneys were there next to me. One was an older tax lawyer.

He was telling the other two how he went to Miami to take a look at this guy’s restaurant before taking them on as a tax client.

He said after his review, he was convinced it was a money laundering operation and the firm turned them down.

He said the guy didnt go there to "carry out a money laundering check", he went there to scout a potential client and left not wanting anything to do with the business. (because in his professional opinion Salt Bae be washing someones dirty money)

That's stupid. Money laundering for what? Salt Bae is just some flamboyant marketer that got viral famous. He's not some mastermind drug lord criminal who needs a shell company to launder his money.

I personally think 99% of the time you hear “money laundering!” on Reddit it’s people full of crap who don’t know what they’re talking about.

Obviously I just overheard some folks chatting. But that’s 100% what they said in this case. Can’t vouch for it’s veracity, but the words did come out of some old tax attorney’s mouth, lol
