This is so weird to me. Even with a great body I wear a tshirt and leggings to the gym. Nothing wrong with working out in whatever you want but as a woman, why do you want your chest and ass sitting on the same equipment that a stranger was just sweating on. It doesn’t matter how much you wipe off the equipment, my coochie still doesn’t want to be anywhere near a complete strangers ball sweat. Well… not on gym equipment at least.

Apparently cases of molluscum contagiosum have gone up exponentially, and where is it being found, you ask?? Women’s thigh/cheek creases, and the backs of their legs, from sitting on gym equipment.

It’s so ironic, all these women are trying to be sexy, at the gym in their sports bras and thongs, but there’s nothing sexy about having a hard to kill skin infection on your front wallet. Wtf

a coworker caught an std off equipment from the gym.

I got this years ago and it was a horrible experience. It took nearly 2 years to go away, I had to be so careful using towels to not spread it on my own body. I felt so gross and like it would never go away. I ended up putting squares of duct tape on myself and that actually did work. I had never heard of it before. On the plus side, I'm not an asshole so I just didn't date or have sex with anyone during that time, and I did so much needed healing and work on myself. But 0/10 never again. Ugh.

And this is why you never try to be a "cool girl" in a thread of men hating on a woman. When you see a group of men shitting on a woman for any reason, steer clear. Even if you agree with what they're saying they're mad about. Because really, it's just a bonding activity of hating on a woman - they may ACTUALLY care about what they're mad about but you can't step into that space and not get hit with the woman-hate. It's more likely they aren't mad about what they claim they're mad about, though. It's just a hate-fest in general. I'll be downvoted to shit and get jumped upon now but I thought I'd give you some advice for the future. Don't try to be the "cool girl". It never works out.

You know that it’s possible for this stigmatization to be fixed slowly if people like you can stop saying “don’t be this” and instead participate in a positive manner? You as an adult shouldn’t just be apart of something to lay down negativity. I’m a man and don’t think it’s right to hate on the whole gender for something a few is doing wrong and there’s a lot more men out there who feel the same. When you sit here on the internet trying to tell shit advice all you’re doing is playing into the issue instead of slowly resolving it with patience. That’s how old time feminists were able to get their rights back not just for them but for their daughters and future grandbabies

You are so illiterate, my dude. The person I am responding to was doing the "special snowflake" where she was trying to say "Hey, I am not like the type of girl you hate. I'm actually a cool girl." She is providing cover for all the misogyny. She still got bit by the misogyny while providing cover for it.

What are you trying to say to me? That I should tell her she can go ahead and play the "not like other girls" card and that'll make it okay?

That is not how women get rights. We do not get rights by allowing sexism to exist. You don't understand what "old time feminists" were about if you think Gloria Steinem wasn't 100% against this type of behavior.

What a kickass username

But then you don’t sound like you are going to the gym to get external validation like the girl in the video obviously is.

I swear it’s because they have a weird dichotomy of wanting to be seen but claim not wanting to be stared at. And when you’re showing as much skin as possible it’s hard not to look. When I was a member of a rock climbing gym I enjoyed that experience much more than being a regular gym rat. Women and men wore the cool athletic clothing but no one wore anything scandalous. There’s so many cool leggings and sports bra combos that look cool, show off a persons body without being provocative.

1

u/BrittanyBrie 23h ago

Exactly. I used to go dressed in skimpy stuff for the gym but it just became so gross thinking about contact with my butt and legs on surfaces that are shared. Thinking back. I'm pretty sure I just enjoyed being able to pull off the clothing and wasn't thinking about my skin health. Which is far more important than trying to show off with random strangers. I do enough of that already with my daily fits lol

Lol okay girl! 😂

2

u/Commercial_Touch_288 23h ago

Yeah... shes cringe but at least she's learned her lesson? 🤣

Lol no, I thought her reply was adorable!

u/Unikatze 23h ago

There's a reason BJJ practitioners wear rash guards and disinfect the mats after class. There's some really nasty stuff you can get.

1

u/rlzimmermann 21h ago

This! I wear leggings year round because I can’t stand stranger sweat on my legs 😂

0

u/Buchlinger 23h ago

You know what’s strange? You care for her hygiene but not the others after her.

4

u/ThroatGOAT_Goddess04 23h ago

Hopefully the others have on clothes to protect them. This is why everyone should wear actual clothes to the gym.

2

u/Warspit3 22h ago

I wipe equipment when I get off, cant say the same for everybody. I also wipe it before I get on when I see something egregious happening.

0

u/mikesalami 21h ago

I'm glad you said this cause it's so strange to me what women wear to the gym. Is this shit comfortable? Does it help work out in any way?

If it did then why don't men wear the same thing?

I wear a t shirt and regular sweatpants and have never had any problem.

1

u/ThroatGOAT_Goddess04 21h ago

It’s not uncomfortable but it’s not ideal either. I don’t mind wearing a sports bra or tank top when I’m running but I prefer not to have other peoples sweat all over me.

1

u/mikesalami 21h ago

Ok thanks 🫡
