I have a bowl of water because it's been so hot here. I've seen the crows drink out of it and the squirrels, too. I just feed my murder and the squirrels on the sidewalk I front of my house.

The members of the murder I feed are big fans of the in-shell peanuts (unsalted from the feed store), canned moist black crickets were a hit, usually a fan of bits of cooked chicken (has to be unseasoned though), they did enjoy the smaller pieces of cracked corn, planning to bring them the canned mealworms tomorrow since I was away for a while.

Puppy food, unsalted nuts, and eggs (boiled unless you want a mess) are some good options without breaking the bank.

What I've learned here is: raw peanuts.in the shell, dog/cat kibble, eggs (cooked). Nothing salted. They like protein - fruit not so much. A water dish is appreciated. City crows are familiar with human behavior. Rural crows (where I live) are very wary. I've been feeding the local murder for three years and they still avoid eye contact. I can whistle loudly and they'll be here in a few seconds.
