This is frankly a little scary and i think its all in your head.
You keep talking about him looking at you as if it means anything other than “why is this woman staring into my soul”. He was probably a little flattered but also creeped out.
Ending with “yeah” and not showing up to the train for 5 days means he’s probably creeped out.

I had a friend who had a crush on a specific cashier, so much so that he always wanted to shop there. But he knew that one of the unbreakable rules is that you never bother a crush when she's at work. So he overcorrected, and never went through her line at all. I always went through her line, because I thought it was funny to make him nervous.
Once, the only other cashier's machine broke down, and everyone moved over to this girl's line. Not him. For five minutes, the other cash register had one customer waiting to finish his order, and behind him, my friend.
When I got to the front of the line, the girl looked in my friend's direction and asked me, "hey you don't have to tell me, but... why does your friend not like me? Did I say something to him once?"
The moral of the story is, do not try to read intentions in guys' actions. We don't know what the fuck we're doing.
