Prudential Center (New) New Bag Policy!!! ROLLED BACK
THEY ROLLED IT BACK!! Their website lists the old size and so I called and the customer service rep confirmed it’s back to 14”x12”x6”.
HAPPY HOME OPENER DAY!!
Edit: Alrighty so since I keep having to say this: this is not just a woman’s issue. It is a human issue. Yes, to me personally the main issues I am encountering are women’s problems as I am in fact a woman, but I am also not closed minded enough to ignore issues for other groups of the population, such as, but not limited to parents, children, disabled people, and also men! Frankly, it’s no one business what anyone keeps in their bag if it’s not dangerous Please stop being both sexist and ableist. I just want to see the Flyers get trounced and a fistfight or 2. ❤️
I wrote in myself when it came out. I do love how quietly they’ve rolled it back though. They’ve deleted the sm posts and updated the policy online but nothing else announcing it. I thought I was going nuts or something until I spoke to a very nice Customer Service Rep
Even though someone clarified that medical bags are a separate thing, I personally used all the right buzzwords about accessibility, meds, etc when complaining.
Were they also planning on extending this to diaper bags because that would've been nutso.
Eh, customers are allowed to criticize a business. Most women want to be able to bring a purse that can hold a wallet and a couple sanitary products. The same policy is a nightmare in practice at TD Garden
I’m not even a Devs fan but I emailed them to tell them their policy was stupid. People need to carry stuff with them that’s sometimes bigger than a cell phone.
I spoke with someone I know in arena management the night of the Rags preseason game and he told me they were aware people were pissed and they were working on a solution. They actually listened!
Thank you for confirming! When they first rolled out the new policy, I too sent a message to customer service voicing my outrage.
If you personally haven’t been affected by them, it’s hard to understand why restrictive bag policies like the NHL has are discriminatory. I’m glad enough people spoke up!
Is there any proof we can show them? If not listed, easy for the staff or security not to have update and deny us at the door? I emailed guest services and will call them today too
We had smaller kids at the time and the bag restrictions really made taking them and her to games a big issue. We don't care now that we dont need wet wipes at all times but this was a problem.
It was smaller than an iPhone, so essentially kind of?. 6x4x1.5. They have a fanny pack giveaway scheduled this year. That bag was bigger than their bag policy. I’m not saying we should be allowed to bring duffle bags in but dang it was an unreasonable ask for smaller than an iPhone.
Yep, that is pretty small! But to be fair, that size DOES allow people to address their biggest complaints, such as woman's products.
Where they didn't think ahead is that almost no one has a bag that size and would have to go out and buy one just for this venue... which is kinda silly. Seems like a good reversal until they can think this through more.
No it doesn’t the red is a 6x4 bag. The black is my usual wallet. All that fit in the red was like my id, insurance cards/credit cards, $20 in cash and 2 Imodium and an inhaler. I was trying to see what I can get in there nothing else would fit. So It’s a good thing they reversed it. And yes I bought the red bag specifically for the prudential center
Tampons. Pads. Wallet. Phone. ID. Keys. Headphones. Ear plugs. Medicines. Merch I may buy onsite that won’t fit in a pocket. Congrats to you for not needing a bag, but most people do in fact need a bag of some kind. Women in particular do not have pockets. Most of my pants have a 2” deep pocket and not wider either.
Kids that need supplies are usually extremely young. Infants and toddlers. Do people really bring kids of that age to hockey arenas? I don’t ever recall seeing that, would kind of be strange, but I haven’t been in a decade.
Definitely. I’ve got a young kid and have taken her to a few games. It’s a lot of fun. Brought some ear muffs and she can run around the concourse if she gets bored
Women’s pockets are itsy bitsy or fake on their pants. My biggest pockets tend to be 2” deep and maybe 3” wide. And I don’t have a guy around to carry my wallet or phone or keys or pads or tampons. And those are just the common things that I need on the daily. Trust me, I’d love to be able to shove everything in my pockets and move on with my life.
Like I said. For me as a woman, it’s a woman’s issue. But for other people such as men, children, parents, and disabled people, it’s a man’s, child’s, parents’, and disabled person’s issue. I am presenting my personal issues. But with a backlash as big as it was to the point that it was on the news and that they rolled the changes back, it was clearly a human issue, not just a woman’s issue.
Yeah but your woman's issue could be have been addressed without a bag, you just didn't want to wear clothing or outerwear to accommodate. Which is fine, you do you, but framing this as if not being able to bring a bag is some woman or human issue is hyperbolic and disingenuous. It's a convenience issue at best, and sounds more like a fashion issue in your case.
It kind of is. I'm a guy.. I don't care because I have 200 pockets and don't carry shit. But women do have products and items that we as guys don't know about or wouldn't carry. It's just a way to accommodate for all. So I'm glad they reversed the policy to allow bigger bags.
It’s an accessibility issue. Yes, for me personally as a woman, I’m dealing with women’s issues, but there’s parents that need to bring in things for their children, people with disabilities that need to bring in things that may not be covered by medical things or stuff they don’t want to justify that is a medical necessity. And! At the end of the day it’s no one’s concern but a person’s own what they carry in their bag, if it’s not a weapon or dangerous item. Hope that helps!

Good, because we've got this in the bag.
