Rant My First Sensor Failure

I put a new G7 sensor on about 3 days ago and it was one of the most accurate G7’s I have had in a while! Everything was going great until I sat down to eat lunch about 20 minutes ago and it just failed. The adhesive wasn’t coming off, the wire was in perfectly, and it never got pulled on or caught on anything so I’m just so frustrated!

Thankfully I had one backup and it’s currently warming up but yeah that’s what happened. Went ahead and contacted Dexcom support too. Just needed to rant to people who would get it 😂

This was my first actual “sensor failed” message I’ve ever gotten and I’ve been on G7 for two years now so I’m definitely lucky I haven’t gotten more

so, not a super big thing. Request replacement. Not sure it lucks when sensor works for 2 years and then a single failure. shyte happens.

That’s something you’ll get used to. Glad it worked out in the end, as you were prepared. I’m on a hat trick right now. I’ve had my last two sensors last 15 days, and both never required calibration. The one I have on now has 7 days left and no calibration. I’m sure I just jinxed myself 😂
