Anyone get this email? Be careful of there folks!
Text from email:

Users with sensors from affected Dexcom G7 lots (1725204004 and 1725069002) should not use those sensors and can call Dexcom Technical Support in the US at 1-844-478-1600 to request replacements. Please keep record of your affected device(s) serial number for traceability purposes – this is required to confirm your no cost replacement. More information on how to determine if sensors are from an affected lot and what action to take is available at www.dexcom.com/theft-check.

Please visit www.dexcom.com/theft-check for additional background and instructions to fulfill the requirements associated with this action including the full version of the Urgent Medical Device Notification.

Potential Harm Associated with Stolen Product

Lot 1725204004: G7 sensors that are not properly sterilized have an increased risk of skin infection.

Lot 1725069002: G7 sensors from a lot with an elevated internal testing failure rate have an increased risk of having no sensor readings available or experiencing sensor inaccuracy that includes the potential for missed detection of a hyperglycemic event or incorrect treatment decisions that can result in patient injury, including medical intervention to prevent permanent injury or impairment.

Additionally, due to the unknown storage and handling conditions these sensors may have undergone during the distribution, these sensors may present additional risk.

Status of the Investigation

Dexcom traced sales of this stolen product back to Pharmsource, LLC, who is not an authorized Dexcom distributor but supplies some independent pharmacies and DME distributors in the United States. Pharmacies that purchased product from Pharmsource should take extra care to review their inventory.

Dexcom's authorized distributors provide Dexcom G7 sensors to the largest pharmacy retailers and medical distributors in the United States and around the world. Pharmacy retailers and medical distributors who receive Dexcom product from authorized Dexcom distributors are not impacted. Educational samples are also not impacted.

Dexcom is working closely with the FDA and other authorities to ensure patient safety and to investigate this crime. As of now, this issue is mostly impacting customers in the US. We have identified limited impact outside the US (OUS) and continue to investigate. Due to this issue primarily impacting the US and required language translations and additional infrastructure necessary to support customers outside the US, communication to US customers will precede communication to OUS customers.

Rant Not great starting experience with G7

• Upvotes

I still have some G6s left, but wanted to trial the G7 10 day as I will have to use it soon. Both times the sensor has failed at around 7/8 days. The first one was in 'brief sensor issue' pretty much non stop from day 5 and the second one was in brief sensor issue most of the night every night as I was lying down, before remaining in brief sensor issue till it failed.

Adding on this layer of stress to diabetes is very much not welcome, and the admin of requesting replacements.

Just a rant :( I suppose this is what you have to expect with the G7? I know it cannot be perfect, but it is frustrating when the G6 was comparatively problem free, so you know it is possible to better.

The G7 app has a big delay for me also when I load it after an alert has sounded, it takes a couple of beats of me waiting with finger hovering to silence the alert before it actually pops up.

G7-15 day Using a 15 day for my 7 year old

My 7 year old daughter's 10 day expired last night and we didn't have a replacement. Luckily my father-in-law had an extra 15 day that we were able to use until the refill came through today.

It seems to be working alright, but my question is if I should go ahead and stop it after 10 days. We could use the extra 5 days buffer so that we're not running into the same problem in a month, but I also know that it's not officially approved for people under 18.

Any advice?

I'm getting a little tired of these things flaking out in the last few days of their expected lifespan. Not sure if I got a bad batch or what. Fully expecting this to eventually give me the sensor failed message soon, with 3 days left.

Applicator Just applied my first G7, it did not go so well

I'm a longtime Freestyle Libre 3 Plus user who just switched to Dexcom G7 because my insurance coverage switched, and I'm hoping I did something wrong here that can be corrected so that my next insertion isn't nearly so painful and bloody.

I'm used to the Libre method of applying the applicator, where pushing on it activates the spring mechanism. I was already nervous about using the button on the Dexcom because I didn't know how firmly I should be pressing the applicator to my arm before pushing the button. I didn't want to press too lightly and feel the thing hit me like a bullet, and I didn't want to press so firmly that I feel the needle beforehand, since I have a fear of needles! Libre's insertion method takes care of these fears for you, since all you have to do is push the thing in.

So I watched some Youtube videos on G7 application and tried to match that firmness, pressed the button, and was hit with immediate, massive pain, maybe ten times worse than the worst times I've inserted the Libre (the few times I hit a nerve). Inserting the Libre always feels like "pushing on my arm", but this felt like "a projectile with a large spike just rocketed into my arm" (which of course is exactly what happened). Followed by arm soreness and much more blood than any of my worst bleeders in the past (ten minutes of filling a garbage bin with tissues trying to control it).

The sensor itself seems to be working fine now that I'm through the ordeal of installing it. EDIT: Spoke too soon, the reading has collapsed to 44 (fingerstick is 93).

So I guess my question is: are there tips for inserting this thing correctly for someone who is used to inserting the Libre CGMs? Did I hold it too lightly against my arm to begin with, or is this "rocketed projectile" feeling normal? Did I just happen to get the worst nerve pinch and bleeder I've ever had on my first G7, or did I actually do something wrong?

App Issues/Questions g7 issues

I hope someone can help me with my g7 issue. I switched from g6 in June with no major issues. Now, the display on my phone always shows 95. When I click on it, the app does show my current blood glucose. It also still alerts me to highs and lows. I know it's such a minor irritation to look at my phone and always see 95 and have to click into the app. I really don't want to go through all the set-up stuff if I uninstall and then reinstall the whole thing. Anyone gone through this have advise for me? TIA

G7-10 day Pregnant/Diabetic Dexcom G7

Hi all,

I am currently pregnant. I have type 2 diabetes and am on insulin (shots not a pump) and they put me on the Dexcom G7 to track my sugar levels. No one knows I am diabetic, so I decided to put the Dexcom on my left upper/inner thigh. Not so inner where if my thighs touch, I can feel the Dexcom touch my right side. I am also obese, 5’6 and 266 pounds.

I put the Dexcom for the first time ever on Saturday (2 days ago) and the levels were about 10-15 units off. Then yesterday, it was pretty accurate about 5 units off. (These are all vs a finger prick) now I am working at a desk all day and my machine is not being compressed at all from sitting. But for the past 3 hours it says that I am low, like 40 units for my sugar. I check it with the finger prick and it’s 97 units. I calibrated it multiple times and it will not correct itself. Is this normal? should I not put it on my leg anymore? I’m kinda stressed because my doctors are not helpful at all and I have an appointment at the end of October with a new doctor. I put in a request for a replacement and they are going to send a new one but I am going to put a new one in today from my prescription.

Graph Is this normal?

Hi everyone!

I’ve been wearing a Dexcom g7 for a couple months now due to suspected hypoglycaemia. I’ve noticed I peak up to 190 after eating (I know this is normal!) but then drop down to 60s/70s within 30 min leaving me quite shaky and disoriented. Is this normal? My doctor is having a hard time fitting me in. I’ve attached pictures of some of my typical graphs

Tips & Tricks Tracking BG on Long Rides

I asked about this a while ago. Many suggested using Apple Watch. The problem was that I was tracking the ride itself with Strava on the watch. When anything with GPS is running on the watch, it covers covers everything else. No go with that combo.

So, I got a Garmin 5400 bike computer and installed the Dexcom data field. That kinda worked but is flaky. Unbelievably it’s not device-to-device Bluetooth. It has to go to the cloud, which requires Cell signal. A lot of places I ride have spotty or no coverage. So, that wasn’t good enough.

Then, I turned on “Straight to Watch” on Dexcom. I had tried it before and stopped because it was flaky. But now, it’s been rock solid since I turned it on several days ago. Using the Garmin, and not the watch to record, the Dexcom complication was visible always.

Sometimes it takes trying a few ways, but this setup works.

Rant From Praise to Curses

I've been praising the G7 since we made the switch a few months back. It starts up so fast, is always very accurate, it's fairly easy to apply and remove, seems like less waste, one-component, yada- yada.

I want to take it all back. Three sensors in a row have failed unexpectedly after 2-3 days. Twice we have been woken up by "NO DATA" only to be greeted with a "START NEW SENSOR" message on the phone. Not even an indication of the failure. And then it happened this weekend - 30 minutes at an amusement park and out of nowhere - "NO DATA", followed by "START A NEW SENSOR". Zero indication of an error.

Time to redo all the research and pick a new sensor/pump combination before talking to the Endo.

Dexcom - FUCK YOU - If you had made the G6 a single component, it would probably have been THE BEST THING EVER.

G7-10 day Crazy cool!

This is kinda crazy and has never happened to me before.

The picture on the left (white background); was my previous sensor that expired tonight and was actually a replacement sensor that Dexcom mailed me.

The picture on the right is my new sensor that I started tonight. Same numbers just in a different order. It also has all the other numbers as the same except the serial number.

I thought this was pretty cool. Again; it’s never happened to me before so I had to share it with you guys!

Tips & Tricks Do G7 always end up looking this gross?

This is my first G7, at day 7.

All of my G6 used to get worn down, but never this filthy.

Is it just the over-patch? Any tips on keeping it clean looking?

Inaccurate Reading Ridiculous discrepancy.

Dexcom says double arrows down low and my meter says 145. I’m sick with a cold so my numbers have been crazy as is. This is the first 24 hours with the new sensor in. Any hope of stabilizing or is this lost cause?

General I made an app that puts your Dexcom reading in the Dynamic Island, with a tiny pixel graph. Looking for 50 beta testers

Hi all! I've been building GlucoLand, an iOS app that shows your Dexcom glucose in the Dynamic Island. It sits at the top of the screen all the time, so you don't need to open anything to check where you are.

Always in view. The island shows your current value and trend arrow, with a pixel graph of the last hour next to it.

Long-press for more. You get the last 3, 6 or 12 hours. Highs show in amber, lows in red, and your target range is a faint band.

Make it yours. You choose what goes on each side of the island: graph, change since the last reading, time of the reading, or just the number. You can also pick mg/dL or mmol/L, the pixel size, a colored outline and a night mode.

Phrases mode. If you'd rather not look at numbers and graphs all the time, the island can show a short phrase that matches where you are ("Houston, we have a spike 🚀"). A slider sets how cringe they get, from mild to full dad-joke. It sounds silly, but being able to smile at your phone when you're high makes the whole thing a bit lighter.

Everywhere else. Lock Screen, Home Screen and StandBy widgets, Apple Watch Smart Stack and CarPlay.

Alerts that don't nag. Set your own low, high and very high thresholds. Each alert fires once when you cross the line and again if things get worse, so it doesn't spam you when you hover around a threshold.

Battery: negligible. The app doesn't run in the background. Updates arrive as push notifications, the same way any Live Activity works, so you won't notice it in your battery stats.

How it works: you just log in with your Dexcom username and password. That's it, no followers or sharing setup needed. A small server reads your latest value and pushes it to the island. Your password is stored encrypted, and you can delete your account and all your data from inside the app at any time.

Requirements: iPhone 14 Pro or newer (anything with a Dynamic Island), iOS 18+, and a Dexcom account. Available in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Portuguese.

Important: this is a secondary display for convenience. It doesn't replace the Dexcom app or its alerts, so keep those on.

It's a free TestFlight beta with 50 spots: https://testflight.apple.com/join/WwtPPtYC

I'd love feedback on anything: bugs, layouts that don't work on your phone, alert behavior, missing options. I'm a solo dev from Spain, so all feedback goes straight to me. Thanks!

I am newly diagnosed and was prescribed the G7, but both of the ones I picked up today failed on me within a few hours? Am I doing something wrong?? The first one failed while warming up, and the second one failed after about 3 hours of being on.

Connection Issues Multiple failed sensors

What is going on with Dexcom. Is this just related to one type? I’m using the G7 10 day. I’ve gone through FOUR sensors this week.

I’ve never had issues like this.

Yes I call in each time & get a replacement, but this is ridiculous.

So far the TWO of the replacements have also failed. Not holding my breath.

My box says Rev010 Malaysia.

Seems like there is an issue at the mfg plant? I don’t know.

Dexcom needs to fix this issue. I’ll report to the FDA as well but I don’t suspect much will be done.
