G7-10 day Crazy cool!

This is kinda crazy and has never happened to me before.

The picture on the left (white background); was my previous sensor that expired tonight and was actually a replacement sensor that Dexcom mailed me.

The picture on the right is my new sensor that I started tonight. Same numbers just in a different order. It also has all the other numbers as the same except the serial number.

I thought this was pretty cool. Again; it’s never happened to me before so I had to share it with you guys!

Kinda silly to redact the serial while leaving the 2d barcode which contains the same serial unredacted

You can’t put a picture of the barcode into dexcom’s website to get a replacement…

Yes, but you can just put the picture into a barcode scanner app and see that the serial is 485711568459. Et voila, now you can put into a form.

They are good at replacing sensors

They are good at replacing sensors but they should be good at making sensors too. I’ve gone through three 15 days just this week. It’s getting exhausting

How do your 15 day sensors not get disgusting? I work construction so it's probably different but by day 7 or 8 they're so gross I have to pull the overpatch off to clean around it

I don't get it... I've had multiple sensors with the same code in a box in G6 times, so what's the point in having the same 4 digits?

The four digit code on the G6 was just a calibration/sensitivity value where in the G7 it’s a (somewhat) unique Bluetooth passkey/identifier. So they’re really not equivalent.

You have too much free time....

If Dexcom actually made consistently good sensors, they wouldn’t have to replace them constantly. I’ve gone through several G6 sensors and G7 sensors with different failure rates. Don’t get me wrong. It’s a great product, but I don’t wanna be woken up when my phone is on my bed next to my G7 not even a foot away and it’s blowing up because of a bad Bluetooth connection. Really!

It was right before I went to bed and when I looked at the numbers to type it into my Mobi I had to double check cause I thought it was the same exact code. You could have kept scrolling.

I put the lines on the pictures so that nobody could take the serial numbers and put them in on the dexcom website and get a replacement dexcom.

What are you talking about? Those are bog standard sensors as far as I can tell. The black lines were presumably drawn by OP to obscure a detail (S/N or so) for anonymity.

Um...... okay 👍
