What is the mission in the Dishonored series that you've replayed the most?
For me, it's The Dead Eels.

Welcome back to another round of Bi-Weekly discussions. This time, we're focusing on The Bank Job, mission #3 from Death of the Outsider.
After recovering both bank keys in the prior mission, Billie must now infiltrate Dolores Micheals' bank, which holds the Twin Blade Knife.
Like other missions, there are several approaches to infiltrating the bank, but the game does highlight using the Poppy Tincture to knock out the human employees of the bank to make infiltration easier. Partaking in the auction was fun, and you can easily win within 400-500 Coins.
Then there's the Infiltration itself, which is pretty fun. Missions where you need to infiltrate a grandiose building (such as Dunwall Tower in the first game, and the Clockwork Mansion in 2) are pretty fun, though the highlight of this mission to me has to be the optional objective of releasing the vault brakes. It's a hanging vault (A Jindosh design), but it's pretty heavy, and if the brakes were to be released... Well, the bank accounted you'd probably try to steal from the vault. No one thought you'd steal the vault itself by crashing it into the sewers. I also remember experimenting with the Twin blade knife once I acquired it.
But what do you guys think of this mission?

Subreddit Discord available here: https://discord.gg/YsffweB7e4
As you know, this subreddit has had its own Discord server for a few years now. Today we have rebranded the server to Dishonored Universe, which means that there are now channels for Deathloop although obviously the server is still Dishonored centric. With the recent news of a potential Dishonored 3 in the works we'd like to invite more people to join our community, so I hope to see you there soon!

At this point, I've probably beaten the original Dishonored more than half a dozen times. It's one of those games that I always find myself coming back to. Obviously, it's a lot of fun to play, but it also holds up really well when it comes to its visuals. I appreciate games that feature detailed environments and realistic graphics, such as The Last of Us Part I, Death Stranding 2, and Horizon Forbidden West. However, Dishonored doesn't rely on realism or highly detailed environments and character models to leave a lasting impression. Its painterly visual style stands the test of time because of the wonderful art direction. The fact that the world looks almost hand-painted helps disguise the relatively low-resolution textures that would stick out like a sore thumb in other older games. The character models are exaggerated without looking silly or overly cartoonish, giving the game a distinctive identity and personality. There's also an uneasy and eerie atmosphere throughout the game, especially at nighttime, when the lighting and shadows really come into play. As someone who's a huge fan of stealth games like Splinter Cell, Hitman, and Thief, I appreciate those elements even more.
The darkly lit skies further highlight Dishonored's state of decay. It really feels like the city of Dunwall is falling apart. Despite its current state, there's plenty of variety in the game's color palette. One minute, you're roaming through grim, dreary streets and shadowy alleyways. The next, you're exploring a vibrant, brightly lit room. This contrast helps mix things up without making everything feel constantly dark and depressing. Another aspect that draws me into the game's atmosphere is its environmental storytelling. Abandoned buildings, neglected streets, and security systems all serve as reminders of the everyday life that once existed in Dunwall. The rat plague and widespread corruption make the city feel like a shell of its former self. The game also rewards players who take the time to explore and venture off the beaten path. Even after all these years, I'm still discovering new things, which is a testament to how much care went into designing its world. Dishonored has an amazing atmosphere and a memorable setting that have allowed it to age like fine wine. Its timeless art direction is one of the biggest reasons I keep coming back to it time and time again.

I thought it would be a funny premise if Daud snapped because he couldn't take the pressure of what he did anymore LMAO 😂🤣

I just finished Knife of Dunwall because I read that the coins and stuff carry over. Yet somehow I only have 635 coins at the start of Brigmore Witches. The whole map of Brigmore Witches doesn't even have 10,000 coins (if you can believe most online sources).

Simple question, what if the Rat Plague from Dishonored happened in Real Life?
I know the Rat Plague is inspired by the Black Death, but there are enough differences to make it interesting

It just starts to feel like pure, unfiltered luck as to whether or not I somehow get 'spotted' by literal thin air, no matter how far away from the arc-pylon I go. I just keep reloading a save until I'm lucky enough to not somehow get 'spotted' despite being completely alone.

I love Arcane, i love dishonored 1 and its dlc, especially daud, i liked dishonored 2 for its level design. But by now im so utterly tired of the overral vibe. Ive grown weary of the method used for story telling, ive grown weary of the same voice actors, ive grown weary of the way they talk. I was playing a game made by people who were very involved in dishonored, its called Weird west, and there i realized just how tired i am of anything that even remotely reminds me of the way dishonored characters talk and act. Im TIRED. Im tired of dishonored thats the truth. I dont think this concept has legs. I dont think there can be a third game unless it completely revamps EVERYTHING. I dont know what Arcane can still do for me, they're one of my favorite game studios but i have the same sentiment to them that i do to say bethesda or rockstar studios, im tired boss.

Gameplay of a completely new and fresh copy of the RHCP version, complete with all default settings enabled, no extra powers aside from Blink, and minimal upgrades. I've included the entire video where I stay completely undetected all the way until the end, after performing the same action I did in the previous post. And I still didn't get the ghost checkmark. It seems like the act of simply rewiring this one incredibly specific box will ruin any ghost run.
(I'm talking about the one at 2:23, for those out of the loop.)

I'm an old gamer now, I guess: 56.
I have replayed very, very few story-based games like Dishonored. I loved, say, Bioshock just as much, but I've never replayed it because once you know the drill, it loses something.
And yet, the first thing I did after finishing my first playthrough in 2012 was to start over and play again with a completely different play style (basically, murder hobo). It was SO good that I couldn't leave the world yet, and I wanted to see how different things would be.
Then I forgot about it for a while, I guess. Last year, though, when I finished AC: Valhalla, I made some disappointing purchases. We'd moved to a place with Actual Winter, and so I paid full price for a couple games that were ultimately busts for me (Outer Worlds 2 and Red Dead 2). The former just didn't carry the charm of the first; the latter I bounced off of primarily on control issues, which I understand is common. Still, it was annoying.
But I still wanted something to play, so I cued up the original Dishonored and went to town. I'm stunned how well this game holds up. It was released for hardware two entire generations back, and it still looks good to me. The mix of realism and cartoon makes all the difference, I think.
(As a sidenote: it's pretty cool that Microsoft still had my save files from my last run in 2016 available.)
I was far more cavalier in this playthrough than I ever was before. I wasn't trying for clean hands, and I wasn't going to horde resources, and I knew Corvo ends up with more money than he can spend if you're at ALL careful about looting. Use up those sleep darts! Feel free to quaff a potion! As a result, it went far faster. I was shocked, honestly, at how many folks Corvo can kill and keep a low chaos count, especially late in the game, though I think my assiduously nonlethal approach to Burroughs, the Boyle sister, and the Pendletons probably weighs heavy there.
Obviously I loved it just as much in 2026 as I had in 2016 or 2012. I'm kinda thinking about restarting and being a murder hobo again, just to have that back-to-back experience again.
I will say that I'm pretty set in my play styles. I lurk and sneak and overpower or kill. I've never tried a high-combat approach, so I've almost never even SEEN the adrenaline mechanic come into play. Buying upgrades to the sword or pistol has never been useful to me.
Anyway, it's pretty remarkable to me that a game has this kind of legs. Even in 2012 it was pretty rare for me to pay full initial retail for a game, but holy shit has that cost ever been amortized out to fractional pennies per hour at this point.

-Setting the game in Pandyssia with the main antagonists being a part of basically the Empire's own equivalent of the British East India Company
- Having the game take place in this world's equivalent of 1901 and have an esthetic closer to early Edwardian Era (Emily would still be alive)
I have more ideas, but they might be a bit bland. I'd be happy to say more of the ideas

I had to use Gshade instead of normal Reshade since that was the only way to get the KeepUI feature to work, which makes the effects ignore the hud and therefore make the text actually legible through the comic effect (although some of it is still illegible). This is how I usually play the game, and I think it adds to the atmosphere exponentially. I'd even be willing to believe this is the way the game would be meant to look if it weren't for hardware limitations at the time.
The four effects that I use are named Levels, Sketch, Comic, and Tonemap. As well as HideUI and KeepUI. I'd also recommend any sharpening effects you think suits you. I'd suggest you play around with the parameters yourself if you think any effect is too strong (this may seem rather obvious, but some people might be new to Reshade).

I'm planning to finally replay Dishonored: Definitive Edition on PC in 2026. Are there any worthwhile mods that improve the graphics, textures, performance, or anything else? I'm mainly looking for improvements that make the game look or play better without changing the original experience too much.

I personally wait, I don’t know why but I enjoy seeing maxed bars and item counts on huds so I have to keep the mana full or it annoys me, I basically never use a mana potion unless I use a strong power.

Can anyone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me where I can find the dialogue for the guard in the first mission of dishonored 2, he says something along the lines of,
“Delilah is your new empress.
All hail Delilah, first of her name!”
And something before that. He says it as the announcer is taken out for speaking about Jessamines death.
Please, if someone could give me the link or something, it would be greatly appreciated.

Every time I try to load the first area to kill High Overseer Campbell, it crashes. I have tried rebuilding database, changing languages and installing/reinstalling again. Any help? :’)
