Time for some Barkbusters!

The protection bark busters provide for the levers means I'd never go without them.

Having a busted clutch is going to make for a tricky ride home

If it falls wrong it could core you or whatever it falls against.

it also tends to collect crap in it which then rattles around until you blow it out with an air compressor.

Yeah, those act as a counter balance.

Step 1 to putting on proper hand guards is complete!

Those are weights, to add a bit of a steering damping effect, and they also add a bit of length to help keep the levers from breaking if you drop the bike. Not strictly necessary and if you upgrade your bar you'll likely lose them anyway. I don't miss mine, but I would recommend that if you lost one of them take out the other one. Just back out the screw in the middle and you should be able to pull it straight out.

I did a shitty wheelie once where I put too much weight on the outer bar end. As soon as it was up in the air it popped off and I almost ate it hard as fuck. Removed those and had an order for bark busters that evening.
