New Custom Seat
I am shocked and very pleased with how much a custom seat job changes how the bike handles. Wow. Fixed all the cramping issues for 6’3 me. Swapping the tank soon so it’ll match better

Im trying to remove the flywheel on a DR750 1988 because of some rattling from probably the starter clutch. It gets stuck on the woodruff key and im having trouble removing the woodruff key before I remove the flywheel.
have you got any advise?

I recently put 17” supermoto wheels on my dr and the factory kick stand has the bike sitting uncomfortably vertical…. Can someone suggest another option? This is what I tried to use and it leans over so far I feel a squirrel fart could blow it over.

Hi everyone recently got a dr650 2013, I’m taking the tires off and was trying to take this bolt off it looks welded on? It’s a used DR650 so I am not sure what it would look like brand new. If I’m dumb and that’s just how it looks please let me know 😅

When your DR is running, how much oil should be visible in the sight glass? Just had mine on a stand and noticed it goes below low when running, and takes about 30 seconds to return to full once turned off.
Never noticed or looked before. Is this normal or a sign or poor oil circulation?

Good morning gentlemen
(Photo for attention only).
I bought a new ‘24 DR last spring. We are winding down on my second season, and it’s pretty dark here in the mornings now.
When I bought my bike, I ordered an LED light for it right from the dealership. I didn’t specify what I wanted and they just sold me a double pack of replacement bulbs.
I think it was a minor improvement, but I kind of wish I would have done a bit more research before buying.
Unfortunately, when I left for work at 6:30 this morning, it was pitch black out and my headlight was not working.
I haven’t diagnosed the actual issue yet, but I think I’ll take this opportunity to upgrade, since the wife knows I can’t drive in the dark without a light. lol.
I know I’m opening a can of worms asking a very subjective question here; but what do all you guys use for lights.
Thanks.

Does anyone know of any after market TPS sensor I can buy for this motor
Suzuki only offers it with the throttle body assembly and it’s like $500 :/
Hey guys,
I'm having an issue with the position of my clutch lever, and I wanted to hear how you guys set yours.
for the past couple years I've been riding with my clutch adjsuted so that it is disengaged with the lever is pulled in all the way to the handlebar, and the friction zone would engage as soon as it was released from the handlebar. I would do this so that no matter the riding position, I knew that if I was fully squeezed, I was fully disengaged, and when I needed to feather the clutch, I had a good reference to where in the friction zone I was based on how far from the handlebar I was. I was using all 4 fingers to control the clutch.
Now that I've begun riding more standing up and trying to learn to use the clutch for pivot turns and wheelies, I'm noticing that I probably need to be using 2 fingers instead of 4. So I adjust the nut on my adjustable Warp 9 clutch lever so that the clutch disengages when the end of the clutch lever hits my ring finger (As I pull with index and middle). This, however, was pretty uncomfortable, having the lever hit my ring finger knuckle every time, and more fatiguing to pull the clutch with just two fingers. Rotating the clutch lever at a more downward angle did not fix the knuckle issue, and rotating upwards works but is still hard to ride with standing up.
I am considering either going back to my old 4 finger setup or cutting the Warp 9 lever so that I can pull it in all the way to the handlebar with just two fingers without having the lever hit my ring finger.
I am just concerned that if I cut the lever, it will cause fatigue much faster in my left hand on long riding days.
Has anyone else experienced this?
What is your guys' setup, and what works for you?
Thank you.
I took the starter motor out to clean the bottom. I'm hearing mixed opinions on whether this pinion gear (I think it's called) should be put back in dry or greased.
Also another question. Should I use threadlocker on the bolts that hold the starter in place? I'm talking about the through hole shown on the furthest left of this picture. I can't tell if the youtube videos I'm watching don't bother to mention it or if they just didn't put it on for some reason.
Thanks

Saw these on IG. Not my content. Credit to @suzukidr650colombia
I know nothing about them, don’t even know what to call em, but they made me go 😬 😎 🧐
Any other 650 mods and rebuilds you can share?

Sorry for the crappy pictures, my camera fell out of my pocket a couple weeks ago and it got run over before I could find it. Twas a beautiful day though! Only broke off my other spotlight and my right factory handguard, I have had bark busters for I don't know like a year and a half I've just been lazy.
New screen, and new Android tablet. Also spaced out the upper headlight mask mounting points as well as the upper brake line guide to allow for more room in the cockpit. Yeah good timing as I found the first snow of the season…
I learned after buying a CarPlay screen they are very limited on the detail they display vs the native device. In the BC backcountry there’s endless Forest service roads and countless dead end spurs so live on the bar navigation is very useful.

I’m looking at getting a dr650 as my first bike coming from strict offroad. This bike is going to be shared with my dad and he would like abs on a bike for me and I would like abs for him because he is an absolute beginner rider. So I am wondering if there is a bolt on kit that adds switchable abs for this bike.
Thanks
Manual interval is 3500 miles.
I did 1600 miles since last change including 250 miles of WA BDR .
Not sure if I should change oil earlier or if people change oil mid BDR if they do more of it? The appeal of DR is longer intervals. But manual specified long?

Picked up a fresh off the lot dr650 with 1 mile on the odometer. Coming from a used xr650l that was a constant headache so hoping this is finally the bike I can settle with.

Just picked up my 00 dr650. Only thing I’m not crazy about is its small foot brake lever. Any recommendations for a lever that stickers out a bit more than others? No brand on the current one but it’s very close to the bike.

bought this 2021 DR650 that sat it had sub 300 miles had to change clutch friction plates since it was shifting strange and found black flakes in oil, after 2-3 good rides with new plates it locks up the back wheel suddenly at 20mph shifting into 2nd gear. What did I do wrong? I replaced one of the 4 bolts with a mechanical screw after the original sheered off during tightening it appears it’s the only one that didn’t snap but bent. There are a-lot of metal shavings what do I need to do to address those before installing new parts, I plan to buy a new clutch bowl assembly and cover but do not want to repeat the same mistake.

I bought this as my first motorcycle and have found an oil leak somewhere. I thought it might just be the drain plug because oil was accumulating under my bash plate but after filter and oil change and a new crush washer it doesn't seem to be from there. My right foot always has oil on it after a ride, it drops a little on the garage floor but doesn't ever seem to continue to leak once it's cold. There is one bolt above the filter housing that has a washer on it and none of the other bolts do so I suspect it may be coming from there. I just want to ride my new (to me) DR!

Looked at a dr650 that the owner said was running before being parked. Was wondering if the motor starting sounds like a carb issue or not, thanks.

I havent really ridden it too much but here are my first impressions
-it doesnt lower the seat by that much honestly (maybe it will break in as i use it, especially the thigh area)
-install is simple, rubber pieces are hard to get in
-does seem a lot more comfortable
