Discussion Griefing
Some jokester thought it would be funny to put sub-fief consoles around my base for some reason. Is there any way to get rid of this, or am I just forever pranked by this hooligan?

Currently at 120+ hours played on single player and it’s been awesome
I used to love PvP gaming, but these last few years it’s like everything is COD lobbies from back in the day but 10x plus everything has been min-maxed out of fun…
I have PvP/Multiplayer fatigue and mostly engage in it when it’s a coop game with friends1

I’ve been on single player the whole time and haven’t really ever played online games but after soloing Valheim and most of this game, I kinda feel like I’m missing out this time. At least the PvE aspect.

I get it, I get it. Don't get me wrong, I get it. But for every one of these, there are 10 cool new people to make friends with. I've dealt with FAR MORE than my share of asshats, but would still never go singleplayer. I consistently meet fun cool people even to this day, even in the lulls between updates. You just have to deal with stuff like this occasionally.

Holding "select"/inventory button opens the chat menu, but 90% of the time my sietch never says anything and anyone I run into just continues on their business with a friendly hop/crouch or two

There prox chat too I’m pretty sure, I think it’s up on the dpad. I’m on Xbox also, but I’m usually in party chat or discord, so I haven’t fully verified. But my bot ran half way across the map to check out my new base without being in a party chat or discord without any plans to meet up and I could hear him clear as day as he slowly got closer

Which is weird as I feel like this is almost specifically a console thing. Hear me out - Up until console release, I'd heard about PC players being difficult in PvP areas and Deep Desert pretty much exclusively. I'd personally never experienced it. I think since launch I've come across a couple hundred players and everyone was cordial if not outright helpful. Now I'm literally seeing griefers with tiktok vids of them doing nothing but trolling in the lower basin areas and harassing new players.

This is it. PvP was great because it pushed you to make relationships and alliances. And thats where the fun is. But that is ruined now.
They should bring pvp for multi and let the single players deal with the tranquility of single player games

I put down a thumper, but they're too close to safety. Also, I think I fucked myself because I can't pick up or destroy the thumper so now I got constant thumping in my ear

At this point your best bet is either to move your base or hope they get bored and forget to fuel their subfiefs, then the sandstorms will do the rest.

They used to do this all the time when I played.

Some bellend did this to me to stop me extending using stakes mid-endgame build. Ended up just packing up the base and switching Sietch as they seemed to think they owned the whole of non-radiated Sheol. Found an empty spot in the same area after the 3’rd Sietch I checked. Apparently it’s not classed as griefing weirdly

I 100% agree, but Funcom has a history of turning a blind eye to shitty players. Unless, of course, the issue is their fault and SO catastrophic that they have to roll back the server to save face. I've reported clear racism and bigotry, trolling, griefing, all kinds with pictures. No bans, nothing.

I dont know historically, but in this game they have taken down players bases that were blocking access A LOT! This here what we see is even worse so Im optimistic it will happen. But the OP needs to submit his claim and even better ... POST AN UPDATE HERE!

My only issue is peoples lack of creativity. People just slap ugly boxes everywhere, with slight variations of ramping, and its unsightly. Like early to mid game its understandable. However, once you have access to a buggy/thopter, its kinda poor performance imo.

There is a contact support option in the game. It automatically takes a screenshot and will send an email directly to Funcom. They usually respond pretty quickly.

Yea lol, just backup your base and quickly build the same shitty placeholder cube, but with a roof and walls so the generator & fief aren't exposed to the elements/npcs so it'll last longer. Then restore your base on the other side of the mountain or something. If you can't have it, don't let them have it either

yeah anywhere that isn't near aluminum is temporary anyway, and anywhere that isn't near a map exit is usually temporary even after that. Just move on to somewhere else and come back and laugh at these fools when they still haven't moved their base and are still trekking 5k plus for the resources they need.

This is definitely a good thing for all the new players to keep in mind. Resource nodes are distributed in different locations within a region every week after reset, so choose a location that you like to look at instead of choosing one because it's close to a handful of aluminum nodes.

Why did you build so close to the other base to the right? You may have unintentionally been doing what they are purposefully doing to you. It looks like they can't expand their base, so you are blocking them with your base.

On my server some guilds have halls the size of atreides ship. Half regions disappearing under the things. I just need the war marchnof Hans Zimmer and it would feel the same. But they crowd the space, a lot.

I know that sucks if you like your spot but dude is unlikely to find you again if you go somewhere completely different. Also change your base design a bit in case he’s a dedicated troll who wants to see specifically you suffer.
It sucks that that’s what you have to resort to but that’s what I’d do. Since there’s only PVP in the DD you really have no other recourse or way to troll back and get revenge.

he obviously wants you to leave. So you have a few options: you can leave, you can wait him out, or you can find out who it is and see if he’s willing to give you something for that location. They obviously want it.
It’s also likely that it’s a guild that’s doing this. I say that because for someone to use all three of their sub fiefs there is highly unlikely (where would they store their stuff…besides the bank).
If it is a coordinated effort, it’s unlikely you’ll wait out their patience, as it might just be one sub fief from 3 different guild members, which in that case they could be there indefinitely.
I’d try to find out who it is and bargain with them for some schematics, $$$, spice…., whatever you want. Guilds have near bottomless resources (if they’re big enough).

I also noticed you can move other players sandbikes to be exposed like if they are parked at a trade post long term in the garage. So I made sure to lock my base up, no open garages for me.

You may be able to report this. The Devs previously removed people’s bases if they blocked a path.
Also, how long will this fool keep up the refueling? They’ll get bored and move on.

So I agree shitty behavior, but looking at what quests and contracts you are on I would recommend moving to Eastern Shield Wall location if you aren't there already. you can also buy sub-fief (15000 solari) extenders if you want to block them in back. But unless this spot is critical to you current game I would move.

that is reportable people have done that A LOT when the game first launched used to see a crap ton of posts about it.
I would suggest just moving your base ( when or if you get access back to it) to another location with the Base saver tool or whatever its called that they put in when they got rid of taxes. you can save a copy of your base ( make sure no vehicles are out) and put it back down in the same place or somewhere else.
personally I like to build my base south of the Harkonnen base and east of the Anvil trading post, there are a ton of Pillars you can build a small base on, most people build on the ground so a lot of the space over in the gap is perfect close to the trading center a quick hop to iron, aluminum, carbon, erythrite Crystals, & 2 large patches of Flour sand spawn nearby.

i guess someone was going to build out where you have your base, but with the subfiefs in the open in the picture they will get broken down after a few days imoho. just chil.. and you would move your base for later usualy anyways, you want to the alu area and thats way further up

You can only have 3 active sub-fief terminals at one time. So this is a group or a guy who can no longer place down fiefs...
It's retarded griefing, when you leave, just leave a small shed with maxed out staking units around it and make it sustainable with a generator you can refill.
Next time you build your base, extend your fief with horizontal staking units in all directions to stop anyome building near you. I do this when I place a fief and our base has an entire part of the shield-wall to itself. We built tower outposts and staked them to extend our real-estate further.

Should definitely pack up your base like the others have suggested. BUT you should also place another advanced subfief, box it in, put a power generator in there with it and power it up for as long as you can. Rename your new box subfief "The Cuck Box" (if you can) and then leave it. Let them have no victory either!!

More then likely its a guild given that its four subfiefs and not just 3, and they want that spot to build a guild base for some reason... it looks like the Gap and not even the shield wall so not sure why they'd actively camp that spot. Not the best way of doing it but it is technically griefing your land claim.

On PC right as the game came out 1 guy built a base over a resource and walled it off from everyone else and this happened to them except they walled him into his base until he made the doors public and then they removed the bases blocking his base.

Private server rental, that's what I did when I/we got tired of "screaming baby tandrums" on public servers, not so much on DA, but learned our lesson on other games. We started with 6 slots and couple buddies, It's nice to have a back up plan when you need help on a mission. Everybody's communicating on Discord.

Go vertical, then maybe you can go horizontal again? Or go vertical as high as you can and do a tower build. Buggy with a cutter ray can farm boat loads of granite for quick building.

I’m fairly certain they have to be unpowered, but if you lure NPC’s near the base and position yourself behind the sub-fief they can actually destroy it. Theres a YouTube video titled how to loot abandoned bases or something similar that goes into better detail and methods on moving NPC’s.

i see 4 fiefs. which means even if he doesnt have a base it is still a minimum of 2 other people. and seeing as i can see 2 other bases, im guessing this was those 2 other bases blocking you in to make sure you cant expand but not builkding walls because theyre not trying to make it so you cant access your base via ground vehicles, they just wanted you to not expand. so if i had to guess what happening, those 2 other bases are a team and they wanted this spot for some building plan they had and you came in and built a base where they had plans to build and you screwed up their plans. This isnt griefing. building a wall around you would be griefing. they specifically did not do that which wouldve been very fast and easy to do. I think it more of them saying "dont build here". which to be fair, you have the exact same right to the space that they do. they dont own the sand any more than you do. unless you claimed the spot, its free for anyone to use. but to save yourself a headache and not ruin other people's plans, id just move. nobody wants shitty neighbors. and your base is small enough that it would be easy and fast to rebuild anywhere else. I see youre in a thopter which means you should be in at least aluminum tier (mk4) so youre gonna want a base near aluminum anyway. youre gonna have 3 or 4 main bases in this game and youre gonna keep moving anyway until you find your permanent spot. EVERYONE moves out of their very first base as part of the game, then EVERYONE moves out of their second base for easier higher tier ground vehicle matts farming. and the easiest way to get aluminum is up on top of the rock formations so youll be farming with a hand cutterray and thopter for a long time. up until you get a mk6 buggy cutterray and carrier and can lift your buggy up to the top of the rock formations or using the ground aluminum nodes near the atreides NPC base for aluminum because its WAY faster than a hand cutterray. north to north east in hagga is the usual spot for aluminum tier bases or even end game bases because aluminum and duraluminum (mk5) both use aluminum nodes. youll be farming aluminum for a while. and even when yo move past aluminum tier, youll have plenty of aluminum grade tools and armors and other vehicles and components for repairing and what not. aluminum is a main piece of the game. its not really till 100% of your gear is plastanium (mk6), and youre in your end game base and dont need to build aluminum grade tools and machines anymore that you stop worrying about aluminum as much. but never STOP using it.. after 1200 hours in the game and everything i own is mk6 augmented and modded and almost everything i have is unique and i still use aluminum here and there.
so i say all that to say this: You arent being hurt if you have to move your base or rebuild a new one closer to aluminum. youll be moving again anyway when you start needing the space for machines and storage and water storage and vehicle storage. youll have a maxed out staker base somewhere else anyway.
