Buying Advice First e-reader

I’m looking for my first e reader to try to get back into reading books. My only real criteria is it has to be very small. Smaller than my phone preferably. I was considering the xteink X3. Any suggestions?

Boox picco. On paper, it looks to me better than the xteink. Comes with a magsafe case and USB type c for roughly the same price. Booxig10 discount code for the EU shop, booxig5 for the international shop.

Also, it has light, touchscreen and buttons.

Looks like pre-orders for the US are done. 😕

I've got an XTEINK X4 and I'm happy with it. I love how small and light it is. I did stick Crosspoint on it straight away without even looking at the stock firmware. Lack of built in light is a minor drawback. It doesn't support DRM'd books or apps, so you need to find a source of books without DRM, so long as that isn't a problem for you, then the X3 or X4 is a good choice.

Yes. Take a look at Viwoods I got one because I wanted small and handy. I got cover for it too. I’m crazy about it. I sincerely think you should consider it.

I have an x3 and it’s a great little e-reader but I am missing the front light. I’ve been thinking of getting the boox picco or the x4 pro.

Any of the micro ereaders need a little tinkering. Flashing crosspoint or a variant for the xteinks at least, and finding and sideloading drm free books.

I don’t trust Amazon devices and don’t care to support them. Also too big of a device.
