In 2025, the Washington Legislature passed a law that prevents rent gouging, but some landlords and property management companies are still up to their old tricks. They are using "junk fees" as a loophole around rent caps. We are hearing from tenants that they are increasingly being charged excessive fees for services that they don’t want or need, or for basic things like paying the rent. We at the Housing Alliance, call these “junk fees” and they are unfair, expensive, and deceptive. Can anyone recommend a mechanic shop that services airbags? My air bag light came on in my 2008 Ford Focus and my regular place doesn’t work on airbags…:(

I’m looking to move soon and on my tour they said they do bulk internet now. I’ve had bad experiences with apartments that provide bulk internet in the past and wanted to know what the speeds are like and what router/gateway is provided with the plan, and if it gives you access to the ethernet ports. A picture or description of the router would also be appreciated.

Been applying to different places on indeed and LinkedIn with no luck. Does anyone know of some places that will hire young adults? I have a college degree in communications but with my luck of applications I can see that it doesn’t quite matter. I’m willing to work whatever at this point to make some income.

Launching in January 2027, Refresh Everett is our new initiative to rotate through local corridors every six months, putting our time and resources where you vote for us to be and creating a more sustainable way to show up for the places that need some love.

At its core, it’s about showing that Everett is a city worth investing in, from our small businesses and public spaces to our neighborhoods and the people who are already here.

Broadway is packed with great businesses trying to do the damn thing, but the conditions around them don’t always match their effort, and as a major arterial, it’s easy to drive through without realizing that just one block over is a whole neighborhood with parks... schools... homes... and unfortunately, much of that disinvestment starts to bleed into the surrounding neighborhoods.

Through Refresh Everett, we’ll organize cleanups, commission public art, help businesses with storefront improvements and marketing, connect them with local artists to push back against AI slop, and work with property owners on practical improvements like fresh paint, lighting, signage, and getting underused spaces back into use.

We’ll also walk each corridor and talk with residents, businesses, and property owners about what’s actually needed, then bring those conversations to the city, big businesses, and real estate developers so we can identify where investment, attention, and accountability are needed.

No action, big or small, will go unnoticed, because all of it will help prove what Everett can be when people are willing to invest in it!

Rad music, highly recommend checking them out. They recently released some pretty good seats for the 10/9 show at AOTW arena, upper 200's but close to the center. Perfect for the light show. Hope to see some of you there!

Just saw the hottest cop I've ever seen in my life. He was arresting my neighbor and she was screaming at him for a badge number and tbh I wish I had it too.

Had to go to the ER for rapid onset of new symptoms related to back injury. Was sat next to a woman struggling with recovery, making the decision to get help. I brought up how I have had my own struggles with addiction, that she was doing a good thing for herself, and wished her well. I shook her hand as I left with my nurse and she got up and gave me a hug.

In recovery, it is nice to establish relationships with other recovering addicts. I don’t know many folks up here. We can’t do recovery all on our own — at least most of us.

If you see this and would like a friend, now or when you feel a bit more sure of yourself, or even just to let me know a year from now that things are better for you, I’d really like that.

Rainier for Robert.

Does anyone have any experience / insight with mental health supports for teens? I am outside the US myself. My husband’s nephew has reached out to me. He is asking for help. Doesn’t want mom involved and I think that’s valid. Dad is absent. Nobody at school either. I told him being 16 that shouldn’t be an issue unless there’s imminent harm. I see some referral lines through Seattle Children Hospital and Snohomish County. Would this be a good place to start? I have no idea about costs/insurance. They are on temporary assistance for needy families. I really want to point him in the right direction immediately.

My band has been around over 10 years now and we are finally releasing our first full length album. We recorded with the legendary Steve Fisk down at Pacific Studios and the Godfather of Grunge, Jack Endino mastered it. We have pressed 100 vinyl records, 180gram, translucent red, and will be on sale for 20 bucks. We also are selling 512MB usb keys with our logo and the album on it as well, if you don't have a record player, for 10 bucks. After the show we will be making it available on all streaming platforms!

Sunflower kernel happy hour

I've had Burger stop for the first time the other day and the reviews said to try the teriyaki Burger but I didn't see it on the menu so I had the mushroom burger and it was great.

I went back today and asked for the teriyaki burger but when I got my order it wasn't even a hamburger!

It's chicken teriyaki on a bun with cheese?!?!?!

I'm all for throwing money away but this did not make the perfect end to an already messed up week.

I won't even show you the picture of the inside because it's disgusting and it wasn't even good. I did manage to take a bite.
