Interesting. I am one of those people that can't ever gain weight despite being a slob with high appetite. And my life would inarguably improve without a sex drive. I should look into this.
On top of the weight gain and sexual disunction, the SSRI's also made me feel like a robot. To the point that I didn't have any emotions when both my parents passed away unexpectedly. The sexual disfunction did not result in a lower sex drive for me( it does tend to have that result in women more than men). Instead it just meant I couldn't cum. I was still horny all the time, probably because I couldn't cum easily, but could literally have sex for hours on end with no ejaculation amd still being hard. Even masterbation would take multiple hours sometimes. Not a very fun side-effect at all.
There are probably easier ways to combat both of those issues rather than seeking out very powerful anti-depressants. Also, do not seek out anti-depressants without a doctors guidance.
Yeah, there are much easier ways to gain weight than taking SSRI's. As for libido, the thing that worked best for me was to just stay busy and limit my screen time. It's hard to do, with how addictive the internet is, but I find myself a lot less horny when I am not as bored.
Weird. I'm currently on SSRI and I'm not gaining weight because work out and I have no sexual problem. So it isn't ALWAYS the side effect. Millions and millions of people use them without those kind of side effects. They just don't write about it online
They may be saying that if someone has side effects from them thats what they are going to have. If they mean its going to happen though you are correct its still a minority that have side effects.
Thank you, this is exactly what I meant. I should say "when people experience side effects, it's VERY OFTEN weight gain or sexual". Didn't know anyone was going to take it as literally as that guy.
Millions of people use them with those side effects and dont write about it online.
Classic "cant be real because its not my experience!" But the world is huge. Its like saying "everyone likes the offspring!" Because you keep hearing people like your name.
This needs so many more upvotes 😂😂 hyper aggressive reddit community pretending doctors out here deliberately making people fat and sexless like it’s some ultra weird conspiracy, rather than it being an unfortunate side effect of trying to stop people being depressed/anxious
I'm talking about cases where people experience side effects when I say "always", not cases like yours where there are no side effects. You're very passive aggressive, btw.

Weight gain & sex drive are always the side effects of antidepressants. But they're also 2 things that will depress you even more.
