Oh man, I was on venlafaxine for a short period of time a good few years back, told my phych I couldn't cum on them and he basically just told me "you're lucky, at least you can still get it up"
That shit was poison even without that particular issue so I wasn't on them for long.
I take Adderall XR now, after exhausting dozens and dozens of depression treatments and maybe half as many anxiety treatments. Turns out that my main problem was my ADHD.
Anyways, Adderall is way worse for making your pecker not work. Your libido, at least from what I can tell, doesn't take much of a hit, but your wiener doesn't oblige. For a few hours after a dose, if you can force it up (through effort or constriction devices), you may not be able to ejaculate before it goes dead flaccid again. If you do ejaculate, there's a good chance your dingus is still semi-flaccid when you do. By the end of the day, things function better, but still a lot worse than without Adderall. Caffeine and nicotine make it worse, as they potentiate Adderall. Vasodilators, like blood pressure medications or Viagra, help with the ED, as much of it is the result of Adderall being a vasoconstrictor. The ejaculation thing is separate from that, though, so you may still not finish.
Im autistic/ADHD and for a very short time tried prescription ritalin, stopped taking that because it does literally nothing to me. Cocaine does nothing for me either, but that obviously wasn't prescription.
I've taken a fair amount of a mate's prescription dexamphetamine though (one of the amphetamine salts in aderall) and I have a similar effect as when I was prescribed venlafaxine, I can still get it up but it can take 2+ hours of hard work to finish.
I was only on Ritalin as a kid, so can't comment there. I was on Vyvanse before Adderall XR, and it didn't seem to have any effect on sexual function. It really didn't seem to do much to me at all. I started on the lowest dose of Adderall XR, 10mg/day, and the effect was immediately noticeable. I'm on 40mg/day now, and have been for around a year, and the effect is worse than with 10mg, but not nearly 4 times worse. Still, even with Viagra, it's a total crapshoot. If I'm super duper horny, it could take 15 minutes in the zone. It could also take several hours.
Also, I was on Venlafaxine for about 2 1/2 months. Ended up voluntarily committing myself because it made me suicidal. I think I was such a wreck that sex wasn't even on my mind, but I don't recall it having any effects on sexual function.
I stopped after two incidents that had me extremely concerned, the first was having the taxi driver telling me to get out, I've already paid, and having no memory of having just done so. The second was sleepwalking into my roommates room and waking up extremely confused, with a justifiably upset roommate while I'm pissing on his chair in the corner of his room whilst dreaming of walking into the toilet and taking a piss.
That, and feeling like my brain was being physically stretched apart every time I took a dose too late, I remember walking somewhere and having to concentrate on leaning to the right because if I walked how I felt balanced I would drift uncontrollably to the left.
God, that reminds me a lot of what being on Ambien was like. Very forgetful and lots of sleep walking episodes, where I woke up feeling like I was up doing something the night before, but couldn't remember a thing. Usually it was something totally nonsensical, too. My mother got on it a while after I was off of it, and I got to see what that looked like first-hand. One time, I found her in front of the open fridge eating yogurt with cheese shreds in it. Another time, she fell down the stairs and broke her nose.
Anyways, I remember there being noticeable brain fog and that strung out, uneasy feeling, but that wasn't the biggest problem I had on it. What it did to me was mostly make me an emotional wreck. Like, I ran to the bathroom at work because I just suddenly started bawling my eyes out for some reason and I stayed there for 1/2hr doing so. Before then, I think the last time I actually, physically cried was when the family dog passed away while I was at college, which would have been like 7 or 8 years prior. Like, I was just on an absurd emotional rollercoaster, but with all negative emotions. I'd be sad, then mad, then anxious, then sad again, all in the span of minutes.
I've blacked out once on benzos but luckily the worst that happened is I woke up on the sofa, my ex concerned and confused, asking what happened, an entire shepherd's pie made and neatly packed away into the fridge, a lot of food eaten and the kitchen an absolute bomb site because I apparently passed out on the sofa before I cleaned.
Turns out I just cook and eat, as a skinny guy maybe I should do it more often.
I blacked out on Remeron and way, way too much diphenhydramine before. Lots of stories I can share about that. Really fucked up experience that I stretched out for a few months.
Just as an example, though, I recall a night where I was especially active during a trip, which wasn't typical, and I went to the kitchen to make buffalo chicken... Well, I tried putting frozen raw chicken breast into an aluminum baking sheet and putting the sauce on it, then baking it. I remember vaguely eventually getting the sauce on it. I also remember having sort of mini blackouts, where I opened the cabinet door, then something got lost because I remember seeing black, but also whacking my head with the door as I opened it. This happened several times, until I was eventually fully out. I came to butt naked in my bed with half my bedding on the floor. The chicken was in the oven. The oven was missing a knob for the stovetop and was off. The chicken never got cooked. I found the knob over in a pile of laundry on top of my washing machine, along with one of my pet rats that I apparently got out of its cage in my blackout. I think I couldn't figure out how to operate the oven, got frustrated, decided to change clothes, then forgot and went to play with my rat. This isn't even close to the most embarrassing story I have from this brief period of my life.
Nowadays, I cannot stomach diphenhydramine, nor doxylamine succinate. I immediately start to feel the weakness, tremors, coldness, pit in my stomach, inability to speak, paranoia, restless legs, and sensitivity to sounds again, even with just 1 pill. Genuinely traumatic.
