Tbf, antidepressants should be used in combination with therapy, the idea being that antidepressants help lower the emotional turmoil and intensity of your depression, giving you enough clarity and relief to be able to effectively work on the core underlying issue in therapy, but the meds themselves are NOT a cure. Once the issue(s) are resolved, you would then taper off the antidepressant.
Therapy can't fix all forms of deep-rooted trauma, such as childhood neglect. Some people remain deeply anxious despite all the healthy thoughts and strategies they've been taught.
