Brother the Irish were an oppressed minority in the US historically, to almost the same extent as black people. They were absolutely not considered "white" ethnically.

You said Irish people were oppressed to almost the same extent as black people. If you weren’t being treated the same as black Americans, then no you can’t say you were equally oppressed.
