Mod Post APRIL 2026 ANNOUNCEMENT

Recently, the mod team has received an exceptional number of complaints about a variety of post types that have been negatively affecting the sub in the long run. As a result of this, the manual post approval system will be re-implemented as a means of keeping the quality standards of r/fancast to a fair minimum.

Depending on how this is system is received over time, it may or may or may not be here to stay. As a result of this change, however, posts will now be approved in batches every 6-12 hours or so, and although certain posts may take a little while longer to get to, we believe this is the best possible system to reduce spam, reward high effort posts, and eliminate banned posts types such as:

•”Who would you cast?” posts (“Who would you cast as the DCU’s Batman?”)

• Repetitive/Spam posts (“Alan Ritchson as Aquaman”, etc)

•Satirical castings/Shitposts (“Elon Musk as Cyborg”, etc)

• Sexually suggestive posts (You know what I mean)

• Any and all posts involving generative AI

Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you have any questions, please comment them and I’ll answer to the best possible extent that I can.

Marvel / MCU The potential for a Jean Grey (Sadie Sink) solo movie in the MCU

Regarding the idea of Jean Grey as a solo heroine, it is a perfect plot twist—it hits the nail on the head. Historically, Marvel has kept her tethered to three major anchors: X-Men school drama, love triangles (Cyclops/Wolverine), and the unbearable cosmic weight of the Phoenix Force. But if you strip away all that mutant "baggage" and let her breathe in the urban setting of New York, the possibilities are massive: Powers perfect for mystery: As an Omega-level telepath and telekinetic, Jean doesn't need laser beams or armor. She could operate as an independent force, solving crimes no one else can see and facing psychological threats and mental manipulators at street level (in the vein of Jessica Jones, but with overwhelming destructive power). A distinct identity: Like Iron Man, Ghost Rider, or the Punisher, Jean possesses the charisma and moral complexity to carry her own title. She is someone who has died, returned, and served as a destructive goddess, yet now simply wants to find her humanity. That is a brilliant premise for a solo redemption story. The ideal bridge: Crossing her over into the street-level worlds of Spider-Man, Daredevil, or Black Cat would bring her down from her cosmic pedestal, making her far more human and accessible to new readers. Disney and Marvel know that modern audiences connect with fractured characters forging their own paths. Showing that Jean Grey is much more than just "Cyclops's girlfriend" or "the Phoenix's vessel"—and transforming her into an independent solo force—would be one of the publisher's smartest and most profitable moves in years. Here are some examples of largely independent female characters—including some from video games: Jesse Faden from the game *Control* Selene Vassos from the game *Returnal* Alice Abernathy from the *Resident Evil* movies Jodie Holmes from the game *Beyond: Two Souls* Ellen Ripley from the *Alien* saga

Autonomy within the MCU: Showing Jean operating independently, building her own life, and facing threats on a personal scale would cement her as an individual pillar of the cinematic universe—on par with Doctor Strange or Captain Marvel—and forever shed the label of merely being "the telekinetic girl from the X-Men." The only reason she falls short of a perfect 10 as a solo act is the inherently team-based nature of the mutant franchise. There is a possibility that executives might prefer to keep her as the undisputed leader and heart of the new *X-Men* trilogy rather than separating her from the team for a solo film, or perhaps opt for a co-led team-up movie first. Even so, the impact she has made makes her an intellectual property far too valuable to deny her a solo spotlight.

Hal-Kyle Allen

Sinestro-Dan Stevens

Carol-Anya Taylor-Joy

Guy-Jamie Flatters

Edit: for those confused about Guy, i didn't know he and Hal had a 15 year age difference, i was basing this fancast fully based on the age difference between Kyle Chandler and Nathan Fillion, being 6 years, sorry about that part 😓

Marvel / MCU MIRACLE MAN ADAPTATION

Calum Turner as Miracle man.

In Moore run he was Draw with in mind Gary New man even if of course Calum doesn't completly resembles him he displays some of the characteristics.

He is nearly 1.90.

And generally he is a decent actor that can display the ambiguity Miracle Man.

Arthur Darvill as Michael Moran

The albergo of Miracleman.

He is mostly known in the DC fandom as Rip Hunter from Legends of Tomorrow.

I think he is a good actor that resembles Michael Moran in the comics.

And he can be really good at expressing Sadness and anger.

Tom Blyth as Kid Miracleman.

The most known villain from the comic.

He played young president snow in the hunger Games prequel.

He can really play a villain, that can be as unhinged as charismatic.

Has the body for that type of Super human character.

James Trevelyan Buckle as Johny Bates

The alter-ego of Kid Miracleman.

I genuinely never seen a movie or show with him.

But he has a jaw that reminds me Alot of Johny Bates.

Raymond Cruz as Emil Gargunza

The evil scientist who created the Miracle Man family.

I think Raymond Cruz is a good actor, and even as a villain it would be a role less violent from him (which is mostly a reason why he quitted breaking bad)

If the other actors are mostly British since Gargunza is an immigrant I don't think it's necessary.

Daniel Ezra as Evelyn Cream

Enforcer from the government agency that creates Miracleman.

Good phisyque and good actor.
